In the Army, we do these little things after training & missions called After-Action Reviews, better known as "AARs." We go around the room or the huddle and ask the troops for three sustains and three improves, or more commonly "3 Ups, 3 Downs."

So, in the spirit of our football team being similar to the "ultimate team" (The US Army, hooah) give me your 3 Ups and 3 Downs from Week 3!

3 Ups
- Tony Romo. I've been in class all day so I haven't turned on ESPN yet, but I wonder what they're saying now. The guy has some stones the size of the Rock of Gibraltar.
- Abram Elam. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what good safety play looks like. I've said it in a few other threads, I think he's quietly the best free agent signing this year league-wide.
- The Defense. I thought that they would take until mid-season to get into top form. They've played very well, allowing only 6 offensive touchdowns in 12 quarters of play. I'm even more impressed by the younger "depth" players' ability to come in and make a play when their number gets called, like Victor Butler's sack this week, or Danny McCray's sack a week ago.

3 Downs
- Tashard Choice. I'm officially done. I think Hostile said that he would have cut him on his trot to the sideline after running out of bounds. This is now two critical mistakes he's made against our most hated rival, along with generally doing absolutely nothing on offense. The only difference here is he didn't cost us points that would give away the game.
- Kevin Ogletree. Does he read his playbook, ever? Does he participate in practice? He made a good catch in the 4th quarter but I'm pretty sure he cut his route too short, causing the ball to be thrown behind him. Two routes he blew that could have led to 14 points. I think Jesse Holley and Dwayne Harris should get a long look this week, along with Laurent Robinson.
- The offensive line. They were, well, offensive. I don't think it will be too long before we see Kevin Kowalski at Center. Costa has done okay anchoring, and even though the early snaps weren't wholly his fault, the off-target snaps surely are. Every time we're in shotgun he seems to snap it to the left or right of Tony's waiting hands, or at his feet, or in his face. It's like Andre Gurode got vitiligo and snuck back in with a new jersey on.

Choice and Otree need togo. This team made a mistake getting rid of Gurode.

I may have posted this before .. but O'Tree has not played 3 different WR positions in three games. He's overloaded. It was a going to be a growing process for him as the #3 guy but he's been forced to do a great deal more and hasn't handled it well. I give him a pass on this as it is a tough situation for any young WR.

Choice is done here. Poor situational play against the Skins doomed him last year. Now, again.

Up

Rob Ryan's defense - Just an amazing job done in an abbreviated offseason and 3 weeks of the regular season.

Tony Romo - Never again should anyone question his toughness or leadership. He kept it together last night despite plenty of others trying to tear it apart.

Sean Lee - Our best linebacker not named Ware. This guy is amazing and he's light years better than Brooking or James.

Down

Kevin Ogletree - An embarrassing display of a lack of professionalism and preparedness. If he's not cut this week, his next mistake will be his last

Jason Garrett - From the continued mistakes of the offensive players under his charge, to questionable decisions in playcalling, I was not impressed with Garrett on this night. Hopefully it's another learning experience in his young career.

Officiating - Just terrible! You people are getting paid for this?!?!

I agree that Choice is not getting it done.

I will throw out a defense for him though... he was trying to turn the corner.
Bad move cause it didnt work but I see what he wanted to do.

Costa already has more bad snaps then Gurode did his entire career.

Thanks for sticking with the thread premise. The referees get an honorable mention from me. Downright deplorable officiating. Ed Hochuli used to be one of the best. His crew had the best seats in the house to watch the game last night.

Honestly!

The bozo sat back and watched Demarcus Ware get grabbed, pulled, held, and tripped for the better part of the night and the only thing his flag was good for was wiping his nose with it!
