Better this to be late than my wife.
Actually, I was so upset with her on gameday. Why? Because with one car totalled thanks to Katrina, she and the girls took off with the other car an hour before gametime! I worked all Saturday night and slept until about 45 minutes before kickoff. When I woke up, they were gone - leaving me as a hostage in my own home! I was so ripped!!! They didn't get home until halftime. So I hurried to the sports bar to catch the second half. I ended up following the game on NFL.com as well as the two message boards.
Apparently, though, I did not miss much in that first half, agreed? The only good thing I gathered was Witten having a monster half, and Dallas holding the 9ers to a FG late in the half (which turned out to be crucial).
I cannot believe that Dallas won a game where Bernie Kukar refereed. He has traditionally screwed over the Cowboys royally. When Keyshawn's 2-pt conversion was being reviewed, I was betting people that the conversion would be reversed. I WAS SHOCKED when the call stood!
After the fake punt, in the 3rd quarter, I thought there was no way Dallas was going to win that game. Despite the talent level of the opponent, I was glad to see the Cowboys gather some pride and leave queerland with a win. The worst feeling in the world is losing to the winers.

I think we Cowboy fans just need to accept that, despite the upgrades (and there are upgrades), this football team will be a rollercoaster until both the players and coaches get fully comfortable and on the same page with the new defensive system. As we have seen, this will affect both rookies and veterans.
I'll say this though - I am very happy with the play of Ware, Spears, and Canty on the defensive line. Dallas could be looking at something very special in the near future. They just need more experience.
I'll say the same for Pettiti on the offensive side. Rookie 6th round draft pick never play this well after only 3 games in the NFL. Heck, Erik Williams didn't play this well after his first 3 games and he was a 3rd rounder that Buddy Ryan labled the "Steal of the Draft." for 1991. However, Pettiti needs experience like the other rooks.
Bledsoe? 103 rating? How can you ask for a better result? I was told the pick by the safety was a case of the safety predetermined jumping Witten's route - leaving Crayton open for the TD, true?
Regardless, Bledsoe is better than any QB Dallas has had since Aikman. A blind man can see that in a minute.
Julius - about 80-90 yards in each of his first 3 games, I can accept that. Why? Because defenses focusing on Julius is probably the reason why Bledsoe has a 103 QB rating.
Julius and Witten do not have big stats, whereas, Terry Glenn, Keyshawn Johnson, and even Patrick Crayton has made big plays in the first 3 games. Hmmmm? Guess where opposing defenses are putting their concentration? Veterans Bledsoe, Keyshawn, and Glenn have been able to exploit the defenses pretty well if you ask me.
If there is anything we fans have learned so far, it is probably this:
With the new rule changes handcuffing the corners ability to cover well, the importance of having safties that can cover now take on much higher importance.
PROBLEM: Dallas severely lacks here currently.
