I know this isn't fully indicative of how a team really is doing, but I think this is fun to follow.
Last night's MNF game moved Dallas' rankings in each of the six categories by one or two places believe it or not.
For instance, the Saints moved ahead of Dallas in Total Defense, but both Saints and Falcons fell below Dallas in Total Offense.
Regardless, here we go:
Total Offense: 9th 345.0 ypg
Comment:Last week - 11th. Dallas moves up into the top 10 without even playing.
Rushing Offense: 16th 113.0 ypg
Comment: Last week - 13.5 tied with Minnesota. The Vikes dropped even further than Dallas, but four other teams moved ahead.
Passing Offense: 10th 232.0 ypg
Comment: Last week - 11th.
Offensive totals: 9 + 16 + 10 = 35
Last week totals: 35.5.
Not really much of a difference.
===================================
Total Defense: 6th 276.0 ypg
Comment: Last week - 8th. Well, Dallas was actually 5th until the Saints passed them last night.
Rushing Defense: 9th 85.5 ypg
Comment: Last week - 11th. If Dallas can stay at 85 ypg here, then they will be in the top ten here an win ball games.
Passing Defense: 13th 190.5 ypg
Comment: Last week - 14th.
Defensive totals: 6 + 9 + 13 = 28
Last week totals: 36
Overall total: 63
Last week: 71.5
Final comment: Dallas has not even come close to hitting their stride and play good crisp football. YET, Dallas is in the top ten in both Total Offense and Total Defense. The lowest rank of the six is 16th (which is middle of the pack).
Trust me, the Cowboys are doing fine. Of course, they would be doing better if Drew didn't have a dreadful game week one, and the receivers had the dropsies in week two. Then again, this team has not hit their stride .
