Week 3: What is Jaylon Doing?

He did ok.
On that play, he probably guessed that the rb was going to bounce it outside by taking on the block, freeing the lineman for the tackle.

In other words, I kinda blame Bohana. for allowing the guard push him to the point that space was created.

That's him every game. I think he has it in his head that he can't make a tackle unless it's an 8 or 9 yard gain. I haven't seen one behind the line of scrimmage from him.

The weekly cherry pick a bad Jaylon Smith play:laugh:

This wasnt his finest moment, but he did a good job spying Hurts and getting sideline to sideline all game.

was going to point out the same, Dallas was able to contain Hurts for much of the night and Jaylon was a big part of doing that. I'm not going to justify a bad play that is on the clip but I will also not dismiss the overall play which was good. This place is strange, once a player is in the dog house people will not let up and will even go as far as ignoring good play.

Jaylon seems to be good when going horizontally to make a tackle, such as toward the sideline. But when it is a head to head, straight at each other kind of play, he seems to avoid the contact whenever possible, instead running into a blocker and taking himself out of the play. Business decisions? From a LBer?

I would bring him in on third down if I wanted to blitz. That's it. He's always there to do his little, "scoop, there it is" gesture but it's pretty rare.

Now number 11, he's a player baby.

I heard Emmitt Smith had a play where he got negative yards too and made it to the HOF.
