Week 5: Dallas Cowboys (2007)

There are 12 weeks between now and the start of the 2007 Buffalo Bills Season. Once a week we will be previewing each game.

Date: Monday October 8th, 2007

Time: 8:30 pm TV: ESPN, ABC(Local) RADIO: 97 Rock, The Edge, ESPN RADIO

Location: Ralph Wilson Stadium (Orchard Park, NY)

All time series :Dallas 3-6

Last Meeting: 2003 @ DAL— DAL 10-6

Jets Key Additions: QB Brad Johnson, Coach Wade Phillips, OT Leonard Davis

Jets Key Losses: QB Drew Bledsoe, Coach Bill Parcells,

Breakdown: Much like the Jets from last week, the Cowboys come into ‘07 pretty much with the same team they left ‘06 with. QB Tony Romo will enter his first season as a full-time starter and hopes to have another pro bowl campaign. The offensive unit should continue to produce with players like Terry Glenn, Jason Witten, and the always Monday night happy Terrell Owen. The running back position seems to finally be solidified with Marion Barber and Julius Jones sharing the load. The only real major change was at coach with the departure of Bill Parcells and the enterance of former Bills head man Wade Phillips. Phillips has always been regarded as a good coach who has yet to find the perfect fit which should finally come to him in Dallas.

As far as the Bills go they will be in a great atmosphere with the Monday Night home crowd. Look for this to give them the right amount of moment to come out of it with the victory

Prediction: 17-10 Buffalo

My prediction is 31 - 14 Cowboys.

My reasoning? Just because I'm a homer and believes the Cowboys are that much better than Bills. :D

That would suprise me.

I just love this type of report. They go on and on with positives about Dallas and then predict them to lose to the Bills. The *** Bills!!! Give me a break. This is no more than wishful thinking. Dallas will win that game by at least 2 TDs, no doubt in my mind. I don't think this because I'm a homer. I just feel Dallas is a much better team and if they can't beat the Bills then I don't know who they can beat!

Well, when I clicked on the thread I thought this was going to be worth reading... sadly, I was wrong.

If we give up 17 points to the bills, im gonna be waiting in dallas with a shotgun, blasting ever defender that steps off the plane.

that was the most scatterbrained article ive read? is that a direct copy and paste .. no way we lose to the bills unless we just decide to suck that day. or we let julius run to much

I agree. This was dreadful.

It was like a child wrote it ("enterance" was a dead giveaway even if the "Jets" tags did not).

"Bills vs. Cowboys. I like the Bills. Why? Because they are my team. I like them."

This author even avoided the unbelieveably stupid "Wade's Revenge" angle.

I would think any imbecile could nail that one.

Ever since I worked in the sports media from about 2002-2003, one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone says "verse" instead of "versus." It grates on my last nerve like nails on chalkboard. And since 2002, I've heard more than a handful of people say that.:shoot6:

I'm not taking this game lightly. They could very well do what the Lions did to us last season.

They have a good offense, they are going to score points. I can see them scoring 17 or more on us, on the flip side I dont see any scenario where they hold us to 10. IF this game was in december and the weather were lousy then maybe.

in 04 and 05 dick jaurons defense did a good job against our offense. However owens, romo, columbo, davis and jason garret are now here so maybe it isnt relevant.

The bills are going to have a linebacker problem. I think if we can keep it close in the first half, the emotion will fade.

It is going to be a very tough game.

Yeah, like a really great atmosphere is going to propel the Bills to a win over the Cowboys.

Reading that at least provided me with some fleeting entertainment (after I got past the confusion).
