Week #13 we received some minimal help.

The good:

The Cowboys won.
The Bears defeated the Eagles

The bad:

The Panthers upset the Rams
The 49ers beat the Browns
The Bucs beat the Cardinals
The Seahawks demolished the Vikings

The Packers beating the Lions only exchanged our rival for a wildcard spot, it did nothing to close the gap between the current wildcard seeds and the Cowboys.

In order to win the division, the Cowboys must win out while the Eagles lose two of their last five games. Their last five games are the Chargers, Bill, Raiders, and Commanders twice.

The Cowboys would receive help in week #14 with the following results:

Cowboys beat Lions, Outlook: above average
Falcons defeat Seahawks, Outlook: below average
Saints defeat Bucs, Outlook: bleak
Bears defeat Packers Outlook: average
Chargers defeat Eagles Outlook: unknown at this point

The 49ers have a bye for week #14.

Currently, the Cowboys are a game and a half behind the Eagles for the division and two and a half games behind the 49ers for the #$7 seed.

The Bears is the team to keep an eye on. They have the second most difficult remaining schedule in the NFL.

Ironically, they still have to play GB twice who Dallas has to avoid tying. If Dallas beats Detroit, they really need GB to win that division while Chicago stumbles.

We really need the same team to win both Bears/Packers games. Our path to the wildcard gets harder if they split. Ideally it would be the Packers as the Bears have the more difficult schedule and are more likely to lose additional games.

Of course if the Eagles don’t get it together it won’t matter because they’ll probably go 2-3 the rest of the play playing like they are.

That Cardinals disaster is somehow going to end up costing them the playoffs this year even if they win out. No excuse for that game.
If we win out and still don't make it, that would truly be an oddity. In the 17 years the NFL has used 3 wildcards, never have they all had 12 wins or more. That's what it would take.

We don't control our own destiny even if we win out. We need help, thus it is a real possibility that 11-5-1 misses the playoffs because the clock wouldn't tick off half a second more against GB. Now that I realize it, that's even more tragic than missing the playoffs because you laid an egg against the bottom feeding Cardinals.

There were a couple other games that were very winnable the first game against the eagles CD lamb had all those drops and we would have won that game if he just caught the ball.
Also the Panthers game we had the opportunity and couldn't get our kicker close enough bad play calling and no improvising by DAk just let that game slip away at the end

We see it every year. Somebody will collapse in front of us. Someone we may not expect will lose a couple winnable games. We just better tcb. So we can take advantage. I feel pretty good still.

Chargers will beat the eagles. That team is lifeless. They hate their hc, staff. You can see it. No joy. Also, color me skeptical on the bucs. They could drop at least 2 more games. There's a ton of ball still left to play. Again, let's just tcb.

Thank you for the breakdown

A lot of people on the Eagles also hate the QB.

catching the Bears/Packers or the Niners seems to be as much of a long shot as winning the division.

All roads are hard roads.

We don't need help, we just need the schedule to play itself out. It would be extremely rare to have three 12-5 wildcard teams.
