Weeks 4-7 2016

for me personally i can live with Dez gone...i think Dez got into Dak's head too much anyway..but i wish we still had Butler..he and Dak were developing a repoirt it seemed....and i can kinda see his point of view that he did not get enough snaps ...but i dont know how things went in lockeroom or with coaches....seems he may have rubbed leadership the wrong way with his mouth....and if a player is not real good...a mouth will get players cut..so i hope the player we got in free agency along with Hurns...( forgot his name ) who is suppose to be sub 4.35 in 40 will be used to take top off defense to open up underneath lanes
Deonte Thompson. But he's darn near 30 so that 40 time is slower by now.

No the chicken or the Egg was is Dak good because of Zeke or is Dak good on his own. Dez was not necessarily a big part of that equation. The fact of the matter is the passing game was very effective because the running game was so dominant.

In 2017, teams started to take away what we did best. It always takes a year to catch up to new QB's and systems and players. It is proven over and over again. What Dak and the running game did in 2016 does nothing for us in 2018. You have to be able to adjust and it is harder to do without skill players.
The Cheatriots do it every year without premium skill players. And Dez isn't a premium skill player anymore and hasn't been since the Jones fracture Week 1 2015, even though he's been paid like one.

No Dez, no problem. Undefeated. Games weren't close.

And, one of the games was in Green Bay.

Cowboys averaged nearly 200 rushing yards per game and the passing game came easy with Beasley, Witten, Butler and others getting good targets.

The loss of Dez didn't at all impact Zeke's production and Dak was just fine without him.

Even with a middling defense with a below average pass rush.

Don't forget that.

Those teams were crap in the secondary.

Butler was not going to be the #1 WR here, and was not a savior for Dak. Butler had his share of drops and bad plays. People only want to cherry pick the good plays for their purpose. Butler had 2 1/2 years here, and when Dez was out, he still did not seize that opportunity while he could.
Stop with the Butler love, he was not that good. And he DID have opportunities.

Gronk is a very skilled player, so is Cooks and Brady is probably GOAT but please continue...

Dez is arguably one of the best Goalline WR's in the history of the game. TD's just got harder for sure.

If that stretch happens this year then I will be happy. Witten is slower, Bease is getting covered like a blanket, the o-line is not the same as 2016, Hurns and Thompson are unproven....so yeah this year the Boys will have the EXACT same thing happen...
