I had a strange dream last night that the Jets traded up to the #1 pick and drafted Patrick Peterson. Peterson then suited up in full Jets gear, jumped off the stage and tackled Roger Goodell who was sitting in the front row, for some reason. After that, there was a run on DL, and Dareus was picked #8.

I woke up before the Cowboys picked at #9, after hearing Chris Berman say 12 times in a row "The National Football League" in his Berman voice.

Oh, and strangely, the draft was held at the dilapidated stadium in Iraq on the base I was living last summer.

That`s not a dream , that`s a nightmare.

Latent feelings about the CBA situation?? Very Freudian.

Hahahaha, I love that he was so jazzed about being drafted by the Jets that he took out Goodell.

It was hilarious. I remember Revis jumping on stage, and handing him a Jets helmet. Then the Jets gear appeared on him like an Iron Man suit, and he leaped off the stage and speared Goodell.

He must have been really unhappy with that rookie salary cap. ;)

I think this is relatively straightforward to interpret. Clearly the rookie salary cap is going to be one of the major obstacles to bridging the gap between the league and the players. Peterson is going to be a player who causes the league much consternation in the future, and a personal thorn in the side of Goodell, because it will be his success on the field that does the damage somehow. The base/Iraq just signifies how bloody the struggle between players and owners is going to get, and the DL actually signifies that the heavy hitting owners are going to grind down the players between now and the draft.
