Yes he was asking for more and even said he was upset that McNabb did not go to management about him getting more money.

No he was asking for future money in the same contract he already had to be guaranteed same as Ellis

As for Ellis he has gone out and worked and has listened to the coaches and is working on improving. Yes before Camp started Ellis was concerned because he was being moved to a different position but once camp started Ellis has been doing everything asked of him. Can you say the same about TO during last years camp in Philly? People can spin it anyway they would like but TO was wrong in how he acted and dealt with the situations which is why the aberration found in favor of Philly when they handed out the punishment.

I didnt say TO acted right in Philly just made the factual statement that he like Ellis asked for future money to be guaranteed. He like Ellis went to the press with their pleas. That is where the likenesses stop

Owens made clear Thursday in a local newspaper interview that he wants a new deal from the Eagles before he starts his second season with the team. He is looking to renegotiate the seven-year deal worth almost $49 million he signed last March.

"This is not about me being greedy or selfish," Owens told The Philadelphia Inquirer. "I was called selfish for trying to come back and play in the Super Bowl. I just want people to think about what they're hearing from all these reports about me being greedy. Just take a moment and look at my stature in the game."

"I know I'm a top player in the game, and my current contract doesn't justify that," Owens said. "The fact that I signed this contract, that I'm under contract, doesn't factor into anything when it comes to the National Football League. (The Eagles) can cut me anytime they want to - even if I'm performing well, I'm healthy and I'm putting up numbers, just because they don't want to pay a player that money.

Yes he was asking for a new contract!!

He's a Hall of Fame calibre safety and would be a lock had the Eagles won a Superbowl. Now he'll need advocates. Sad.

I agree...and the worst (or best part) is that I think Philly will be a non-factor in the division for the rest of his new contract....

that was the only way to get the garenteed money.

BAsically the eagles pulled a Synder and backloaded TO's contract, if i rember correctly his second year he was scheduled to make about 2.1 million dollars. And he was in thought that if the Eagles won the SB, or if they didnt the eagles woudl cut TO, to keep him from getting the money in the backend of the deal

Because of course teh FO holds all the cards and cababilty of cutting a player whenever they want

Along with that $2.1M was a $7M roster bonus.
