That both of the players they targeted went in consecutive picks immediately preceding their pick.

It certainly looked like one of them were going to be there until they were swooshed right from under us.

Then in a solid move with no one on the board they wanted traded down to gain a pick in 3rd down still able to select their next choice.

All in all despite the initial disappointment , I’d argue we maneuvered well and landed one of the most talented defensive players in the draft.

It will be important to move up today if necessary to land someone in the secondary. That’s what this extra pick allows. Leverage to make a better move today if needed. If not an additional 3rd round pick is welcomed as well.

I am fine with Parsons. LB was a big need as well. As big as CB and S. And there is more depth at CB, S, LB in day 2. As I still think they need another LB. Werner or Browning would be great. We got the best defensive player in the draft, and an immediate help.

Though I was hoping Horn or Surtain, but not disappointed with Parsons, and will not complain. I would have been somewhat disappointed with Slater. But would not whine about it. Depending what today brings in the draft.

Norm said, though a great pick, but you are basically trading a #1 for a #1 which is not always good. But then you need to look at LVE and his injuries, upcoming contract and such.
I do not look at it that way. We can easily see LVE, Jaylon, Micah all on the field at the same time, then add Neal in the mix as well. I am not sold on Gifford and Bernard.

I do not see Parsons as LVE or Jaylon replacement but a compliment.

We drafted a potential immediate starter.

We will find some OL backup depth talent in mid rounds .

Agreed.
Lost top 2 targets but recovered as well as possible with huge value add in trade down to take guy we'd have taken at 10 anyway.

I am not as certain we have to move up. 4 picks on day 2 allows you to stack A LOT of top 100 talent.
Could get a DT, S, CB, OT on day 2 alone.
BUT it will depend on how boards fall. With top safeties sitting there, it'd be tough to watch 3 of them come off board before we pounced.

IF you get the top LB and top S in the class that's pretty salty business IMHO.

2 of the safeties we have targeted are still there. We need to get one of them.

It's obvious many here rarely saw Penn State play, and know little about Parsons beyond what they read on the internet.

As someone who has seen him play often, let's just say he'll fit right in with Jaylon, DLaw, and the rest of the Hot Boyz™.

That sounds like an insult to me. Is that how you mean it?

First off, all you ever do is insult people - directly - so let's skip the part where you feign offense.

Secondly, if you choose to personalize something that wasn't aimed to you - you hadn't even posted in this thread - whose fault is that?

I’m not convinced that the Cowboys wouldn’t have taken Parsons with both corners on the board. I think the Cowboys wanted them to be on the board due to other teams offering more to come up and get them. Possibly a bidding war. Parsons may have been THE target all along.

Lol. That’s an interesting take. I can’t prove you wrong, but I’m HOPING you are wrong.

I agree. there were only 14 First round grades on players. Parson was ranked 12th. I presume people will warm up to him once he shows his dominance of the defensive side of the ball.

Who is attacking who here? LOL

I asked you a simple question about if you are insulting Parsons with that comment and you go nuts on me. I think we see a nice picture of why sometimes I can get a little nasty. Posters like you typically come at me first.

There’s no indications that’s true. None I’ve seen or read anyway. If you have something to support I’d like to see it.

Actually you asked if he was insulting you. At least that’s how it came off .

Maybe you didn’t mean it that way but since you hadn’t posted in this thread yet at that point not sure how you could have taken it personal.

His insult appeared to be more of a broad stroke.

He said Parsons could join Jaylon, Lawrence as a "HotBoyz". I asked him clearly if that was an insult or not? He hadnt posted anything to me yet so why would he think I felt insulted by him? LOL

Just another poster that lashes out and wonders why they get it right back. And Ironically, I was gentle with him.

Insult me all you want, Im not one of these thin skinned ninnys that complains to the moderators every post like some punks on here.
