Well if we look at the big picture we will realize that

1. We still have the best QB in the nfc east

2. We still have one of the best receivers in the nfc east

So I believe we can get past this and still have a good season. Plus there is plenty of time to replace murray so we okay

You can change #2 to THE best. No shame in that.

Yes this team is still stacked on offense and our core is still here.

Offense is full of young lineman getting better, young receivers getting better. Losing a tailback that posts a career year in his contract season isn't scary to me. If you have a dynamic passing game, and great run blockers, you will find plenty of backs that can perform.

The Patriots are the model franchise in this regard.

Yeah, cuz relying on Romo throwing to his WRs as the foundation of the offense has really worked out for us in the past.

Sorry for the sarcasm. Your positive spin is essentially true. And if a miracle happens in the draft at RB we will be fine. But there's a chance we go pass happy again and that would, well, suck, wouldn't it?

As of now worse on offense without Murray, and worse on d compared to last year. Doubt even if McClain comes back at mlb.

Could not agree more. And they are in contention every year. I'll miss Murray, but I think our scouts can come up w/ a good replacement in the draft...

You can replace Murray but we do not know what we will get. You can end up with another Felix Jones for all we know. fact is Dallas knew what they had in Murray you don't know what you will get with the next guy good or bad. Believe me I hope we can get a guy who turns out to be a great RB but it is not as easy or as sure of a thing as people seem to be claiming.

They better find a way to give Dez a contract and stop playing with him with that franchise tag or he might find his way to another organization as well by sitting out and demanding a trade.
wrong.

Ricky Bell or Tony Dorsett? Tons of examples thru the years. No question it's a roll of the dice.

Yeah a big role. It is the identity of this team. We went from a pass heavy team to a more balanced and more of a rushing team. That identity is out the window. I think Dallas will now look to get a RB in here and hopefully one who will be effective in all phases of the position. I don't care to see a RB who whiffs on blocks or dances around in the hole or the guy who can't catch a cold let alone the football. Who know maybe we do hit the pot of gold with the next RB but it is far from a sure thing

It's harder to hit on a RB than people want to admit.
Look at home many backs in the league are considered to be good enough to carry the load.
Murray, Peterson, Lynch, McCoy, Bell......just about every other team has backs that are throw away types.
Now look at how many backs were drafted in the last 5 years...where are they? What did they become?

I think the reason backs are not drafted in the 1st round much anymore is because the majority of backs never amount to anything more than forgettable.

Yet we now need to replace a top 5 back with the draft and hope we don't get stuck with one of the forgettable players. Another Felix jones, Tashard choice, Trent Richardson, mark Ingram,
