...today in KC. Herm Edwards predicted that the 'Boys would choke against a winless & hapless team in Kansas City on NFL Live. Said the pressure is on Tony Romo & the Cowboys to get it done. I agree. It is time for this team to play up to their talent level. So many times, they seem to be going through the motions. Like, at any moment, they can turn on a switch and take the other team out. This team needs to play the remainder of their schedule like their lives depended on it. It's time to play mean, slobberknocker football with reckless abandon. Except you, Flo. You need to stop being so reckless- with the snap count.

A couple of thoughts:
  • I don't think I saw Victor Butler once in the loss to Denver. Dude played six plays during the 4th quarter against the Panthers with the game still on the line. Here are his stats for a measly 6 plays: 2 Sacks, 1 Forced Fumble (which the Cowboys recovered & ended the game). Plus, he was a whisker away from swiping the ball away on another pass play. Considering he had a coverage assignment on one play, that's all of that impact while rushing the passer fives times. FIVE! I know Spencer had his first sack of the season last week, (one he negated by swinging wide & snatching Orton's face mask, but still...), but he has been a non-factor as a pass-rusher most of the season. Why not let Mr. Butler play some on obvious passing downs? I think he's earned it.
  • If Romo has another multi-interception game, it's time to sit him for a game. Maybe he needs to watch another QB take his spot for four quarters. Couldn't hurt. If Kitna sucks, then Cowboys' fans will be screaming for Romo, and that will help Tony. If he does well, then Tony will see that he is not indispensable, and will get his head out of his arse, and that will help Tony....and all the rest of us.

According to Tim Cowlishaw this game won't tell us anything if the Cowboys win it. But I bet he'll have a hissy fit if the Cowboys lose. Such hypocrisy.

I happen to agree with him. Beating a pitiful 0-4 team won't really tell us much of anything, but losing to them would tell A LOT. I don't think it's hypocrisy at all. To me, it's just common sense. What could beating the Chiefs tell us? I mean really. We're damn sure supposed to beat them. But, again, if we lose this game, it means Wade Phillips and the staff have lost something far more important: the team.

And he'd be right. "Wanting them to win" and "keeping a sense of perspective" are not mutually exclusive. If 13-3 didn't guarantee anything, why should a win over lowly KC?
