Why Jerruh was talking about 10+ new players.

Getting a tackle and a safety went from would be really nice to absolute need.
And we still NEED a guy who can play both G & C better then the proctologist.

totally agree

quick mock:
1st round:
trade up to #10 (JAX) 1st round, 3rd round and 2011 2nd round. Grab Eric Berry.
^safety is by far a bigger need than Tackle, Colombo can still play and we have a player that is semi-proven in Free. In FS we got Alan Ball and Mike Hamlin, wth. I think Berry will be a Cowboy, or we will tradeup to 20 and grab Thomas.

2nd Round: Vladimir Ducasse OT
4th round: Jason Fox OT
^ both are projects, both will be hits. Groom both for LT, and have a open competition between Free, Fox and Ducasse for LT this year, the position is TOO important to hand it to Free or anyone. 3 people, one will come out a fantastic player and they start, if that is Fox let it be Fox, if it is Ducasse let it be Ducasse, if it is Free let it be Free. None will be huge money makers, so money wouldnt influence the decision.

6th round: top ILB on board
7th round: top DT on board.

Eric Berry will be gone by 10..

I just hope the "10 new players" aren't our six draft picks, the three 2009 draft picks (Robert Brewster, Brandon Williams, Stephen Hodge) who didn't play last year, and one guy off the practice squad.

Not to sure about that, if the Browns take Haden over Berry like most suspect, then he should be there at 10.

My gut feeling: We will leave the first round with either Eric Berry or Earl Thomas. Either one im fine with.

I think everyone is over reacting to these cuts. They are not going to effect the Cowboys draft plans that much and Jerry is not going to get desperate for Berry or Thomas when he has two other safeties that are not rated much lower that can be had with out selling your soul to move up.

Thomas would not take much to move up, Alan Ball & a 3rd should get us up to #20.

Where do you come up with stuff and do you think anyone values Ball as much as you just did?

LOL. We won't have any picks in the 2nd round or 4th round if you trade up to 10 for Eric Berry.

And I'm going out on a limb - Eric Berry will be a bust. You heard it here first! :laugh1:

He started 4 games. He has experience and has shown able to play up to NFL speed.

Dude...if this board were an NFL team, you'd still need time on the practice squad.

Think about that stuff. You're basically saying Alan Ball trades for Eric Berry and a pick?

Come on man.

***? I said we give our 1st round, 3rd round and Alan Ball to get up to #20 for Earl Thomas.

Practice squad? He would be carrying Quincy Carters equipment on the Arena bus.

I agree but even then it has to be a hell of friendly deal.

wth did I say that is wrong? 3rd round pick, 1st round pick and Alan Ball can get you up 7 spots.
