Wentz -- journeyman or revived career in the hereafter?

I'm curious if you guys think Wentz is now going to go down an RG3 type of path as a capable backup who moves from team to team (a journeyman) or if he'll land in just the right spot for his abilities to shine, proving himself an elite QB. Or will he completely bust and be out of football soon?

I've seen the man thread the needle with some amazing throws that a lot of quarterbacks could not make. But that was before his big injury. Since then he hasn't seemed the same. It does make me curious what lies next for him. Some QBs have gone from tough situations to being exactly the right fit for a team to get a championship. Examples: Jim Plunkett and Steve Young. Others start off looking great, but end up holding clipboards a lot and only playing in emergencies. (RG3).

Iggles gave up 63 sacks this year... Wince caught 50 of them, leading the league, despite playing only 12 games... Didn't watch them a lot... Sacks due to poor line play? On him for holding the ball too long, etc ?

I doubt he's ever going to be an elite QB, but I believe he can have some success. Maybe like Tannehill or Mayfield. It depends on the situation he's in. His team right now is terrible and he's getting all of the blame. He has no one to throw to, similar to Dak back in 2018 before Cooper. But unlike Wentz, Dak didn't try to be a hero and also throw a ton of interceptions.

I think Belicheat might could make the Patsies look good with him. He is a Brady kind of QB IMO.

Maybe... but man, there's a lot of money left on his contract for a guy who can't stay healthy for the most part... and who has said he would prefer to be reunited with Frank Reich in Indy... and Indy does have the cap space to absorb that deal... still, much better option than cam newton was

Wentz has the same problem McNabb, Culpepper, III, Kap, and Jeff Garcia had. They quite simply cannot play unless they can run around. Limit their mobility, and none were/are very good. Cam Newton also. I would imagine Tarkenton was the same way, he always failed in the playoffs when teams w/ good D's were able to limit his mobility.

The QB position in the NFL is still and always will be based mostly on the ability of the QB to pass the ball.
