We're 13-17 over our last 30 ballgames... is that good enough?

On one hand, maybe that's not so bad considering where we were before.

On the other when does this team start showing us some consistency?
 
I dunno, i agree with you. At the same time, we are 2-2. Thats all taht really matters. Next week I think we might get a real good look as to how good this team trully is.

True. And I think we might get schooled.

We are .500 since Parcells took over. Give me where we were before, I almost find that satisfying.
 
I say we have been schooled 13 times over those 17 games. Now maybe the better question is who got schooled the players or the coaches or both?

That's a very good point Pops... I thought Parcells would give us one of the best "game-day" coaches the NFL has ever seen. But honestly, I've yet to see much of it. And that's very disappointing.

This is a different Parcells.

He's become a caricature of himself.

He was VERY creative with the Jets. In fact, he was pretty darn creative the first half of his first season here...then he pulled in the oars and we've gone ULTRA conservative since.

I'd rather be inconsistent then to be consistently bad. At least we're back and forth between good and bad now.


Baby steps. Can't expect us to go from consistently bad to consistently good in one year, especially with a bunch of rookies on the team.
 
I think consistency will come next year... The first year was a myth. The 2nd year was the throwaway year. This year is our transition year and next year will hopefully show some consistency and truly give this team an identity.

Right now, I can't get a read on this team. They never live up to my expectations in some games and then they exceed them in others...

Yes it is Michael.

By trying to avoid playing to the other teams strengths we are abandoning the strengths of some of our players. Witten, JJ, afraid to go deep, trip sets, etc.

We keep trying to run JJ as if he was "the Bus". JJ is not that type of back and he is using Thompson the same way.??????

It is strange to me that other D coaches can put together a blitz package that can get to the QB and we can't. I'm very frustrated.l

That's probably a pretty valid assessment. I agree with you. I never expected this to be "the" year. It looks to be an "8-8" kind of team.

Not remotely.

I think last year was the proverbial straw for me but I was willing to extend benefit of the doubt based on past performance by Parcells.

That he went into last season with that roster thinking he was going to play veteran smart, savvy, error free football and win games, is absurd.

The Washington game was a good example of why this philosophy no longer works in the NFL. We played well and controlled the game for 55 minutes..and lost on three big plays..the two passes and the Brunnel scramble.

Game over.

And that was against a team that had no playmakers.
 
13-17 sucks. What's that, .400? This is not batting averages. This is win/loss averages.

That SUCKS.
