I can't understand these constant threads about "TO underachieving" and "TO being nothing but an overpaid decoy" and such.

Unfortunately for us all, a receiver, his team, and that team's fans are all at the mercy of the QB running the show. Our QB can't get the ball out of his own hands, much less into the hands of somebody else. Yeah, he's gonna tear up Houston, and then come back and get rocked in the games that actually count like he always does. We have lost the two toughest games on our schedule thus far because Bledsoe played terribly, just like Brunell did in their losses. We bring in players like TO and Vandy that don't really fit and are a little past their prime. We pull a "Snyder" by paying them way too much to top it off. Lets say Bledsoe turns it around and does even just enough to get us to 10-6 and into wild card position. Does anybody really think Bledsoe would lead us to a road playoff victory against a team like Chicago? This is gonna leave us with a horrible playoff appearance as the only thing to brag about for the entire offseason like my friends that are Commanders' fans constantly do about their meaningless appearance last year. I tell them that the skins were nothing but a warm up team for their opponent in the 2nd round. Man, are they gonna say it back to me this year?

It's unfortunate that TO used up all of his QB complaint passes, because for the first time, he'd actually have a legitiment case for bashing his QB.
If the point of this season is for us to win the Super Bowl, we have a lot to worry about. We are becoming the Commanders :banghead: Shoot me now.

He always looks for glenn. Like when he threw a 9 yd pass to Glenn with owens, 10 yds further upfield wide open. If bledsoe spent more time looking at the wrs than trying to figure out when to call the max protection signal, maybe he would know who to throw it to. Prossman

He always looks for Glenn..like when he threw FIVE more passes to Owens than to anyone else on Sunday?

Glenn was the best deep threat in the NFL last year, I dont blame him for looking at a reliable player first, if him playing favorites with Glenn were even true.

Maybe he throws to Glenn because Glenn doesn't drop TDs in back to back games........Maybe he throws to Glenn because Glenn was practicing with the team instead of riding a bike..........

probably not though.......more likely he has some huge agenda against TO and just throws to Glenn for the hell of it.

Then how come Glenn is doing so well?

This is fine, but it has nothing to do with my point. Bledsoe's inability to win big games may get covered up with games like this upcoming Houston one, but the fact remains that he's basically a poor man's Peyton Manning. He's been choking when it counts and u can't teach an old dog new tricks. We're not gonna get far against a team like Chicago whose D is even better than Philly's. Now the secret of the middle blitz is out too, so it's not gonna take a genius to figure out how to come at Bledsoe.

The whole rant was that we have our very own versions of Brunell, Moss and Snyder over here...and the whole thing just makes me sick. Big road games like the ones in Jacksonville, Philly and Seattle (that Bledsoe blew last year) are the types of games we need to win. These are the types of playoff games we'll be playing. Like I said...if things work out...we will more than likely have to go to Soldier Field or back to Philly even for a huge playoff game. We can't afford for Bledsoe to gun for his popular 3 interception quota in a situation like that, but he's given us no reason to assume he would do otherwise.

Bledsoe wouldnt walk out of a game in January in Soldier Field, he would be carried off on a stretcher.

Haha that's hilarious and unfortuntely true at the same time. You would think they would wait for the 3rd interception to come before going for the big, stretcher requiring, hit however. I'm sure this would be somewhere in the defensive game plan.

Vanderdgat fits, kickers always fit. They don't really have to work with the team.

TO is a player who doesn't really fit into our system, so in that way we could be seen as having made a Commanders style manuver, but the difference is at least TO is a legitimate talent.

:laugh2:

Everyone and their moma knows what the signal is, seems like they would change it, since Drew thinks he needs max protect on every play. Heck, he probably does.

This is my bottomline.

We are beginning to make concessions for the guy, and that is probably the beginning of the end. We're starting to say, "well, wouldn't you be upset? Wouldn't you?" Well, of course. But that isn't the point.

We're starting to backpedal on things we shouldn't be backpedaling on. This is how it starts. He starts making that tear and all of the sudden it's bigger than we thought and then poof... it's out of control.

I supported TO coming here, but look, I'm no dummy. I can see things unfolding, and I don't like it. Yelling at Haley in practice is not good, because it's not just his "passion." It signifies something much deeper. Much more sinister here. We can't just chalk it down to his on-field passion getting the better of him. That is just selfishness.

So should we have to endure this? Are we beginning to see how this relationship will work? I'll let you decide, but I'm well on my way to making up my mind.

Nice post.

I think the key parts in it all are: selfishness, and making concessions.

It's been a difficult week. I hope a win changes the media atmosphere at least but it's pretty obvious the circus is never going to stop. I also supported TO coming here and I want him to give it the time (and practice reps) necessary to be successful. I'll admit to a bit of worry at this point.
