Wise ones explain to me:

What has happened between 2009 and 2010 to account for this?

It's going to be the biggest one-year drop in NFL history win-wise, I'm thinking.

It's supernatural. Please help explain.

Gonna tell a little story. I was going to put this into its own thread but whatever.

A few years ago I was hired as a store manager for a local restaurant. The manager before me was fired for stealing. The staff was very respectful and listened to everything I said. But me, being the good and nice guy that I am (And still young too, relating to most of my workers who were only 6/7 years younger than I) naturally became friends with them eventually. As time went on, the respect slowly dwindled away. The niceness that I showed was taken advantage of, they basically lost respect for me. It's no different in the NFL I imagine. You can't make friends with these players and demand respect. You can't be nice to the point of ickyness. You just can't and when you add in the lack of accountability from the owner down and the lack of consequences you get what we've got.

The poor attitudes and quitters need to go in the offseason. I really don't care at this point if they're a little talented, if they give up, get rid of them. I want someone who comes to work every day, rain or shine and puts up 100% effort.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Seen it happen/experienced it myself.

Direct hit.

I think the laziness...the poor attitudes and work ethics...the quit in this team, has probably become so ingrained into some of these players that, like it or not, some of them won't recover and are going to get the axe, and I wouldn't be a bit surpised if that list included players whose release will shock us.

That's okay, though. As of now I'm all for it.

Hey at least in 89 we had a #1 overal pick and a #1 supplemental pick to rest our shoulders on, along with a respected college coach.

The problem with people is that they mistake kindness for weakness. Wade Phillips has let them, and now this persona has taken over him and he just accepts it.

We're playing defense like it's 1989, at least.

We've allowed 232 points in eight games, which ties the 1989 team for the second-most in franchise history. The only team that allowed more was the 1960 expansion team, which allowed 272.

This team has had the same issues for the past 3+ years. We were just lucky to never have it come fully crashing down until December. This year, it all came to finally bite us early.
