What's the debate on keeping Cooper and Lawrence, yes they're good players, they were better before the made the big payday. Fans act as if we lose them, all is lost! Well we've done some losing with them, not like we've had any deep post season success with them.

Is it all their fault, no, but because their names are in the news right now, the focus is kind of on them. If we let them go, it's next man up, hell maybe something will change, can't get any worse!! Please give your thoughts!!

They are completely different. Dlaw is a non factor most of the time. Cooper is a bigger factor even when the QB won't throw him the ball. Who's getting double teamed? Not CD, not Gallup, not jarwin, not whatever cheap veteran we bring in and not a rookie either. Unless semi fehoko is some route running savant chances are this offense will look more like the games before we traded for Cooper. Anytime Cooper has missed some time this offense has nosedived and now we're losing more than just Cooper.

I think the whole double teamed debated is overrated.

Most, if not all teams went single man coverage with two high safeties.

That is on 4 to beat defenses and read the safeties.

Anyone that feels a 12-5 team was close probably wants to restructure and go all in. Frustrating thing since Jerry killed the cap in the beginning he now does everything possible to avoid a repeat. Sometimes it's not wrong to put all your chips in though.

.....it will when we continue to see the likes Noah Brown, Anthony Brown, LVE, the same OL as the "next men up", and the same play calling.

If your building good rosters your not able to keep em all. Did they make some bad contracts, yes.
How many teams are releasing good players now.
How many of us have been posting cut them both.
Last year was a hopeful year. I thought we’d go deep into the play offs’
My hope is they fix the oline and Dline

$100 says we're saying the same thing about Dak in 2022. But then 4 wasn't all that great before the big pay day, so whatever.

Agreed because you can't tell me Adams etc aren't being doubled but still make plays

Really depends on what routes they have them run.

I couldn't careless about D-Law. He can go.

Cooper is different though. He is a true #1 receiver that defenses respect and he takes the heat off guys like Lamb, Gallup, and Wilson. When we traded for Cooper he instantly changed the trajectory of the season. Dak has put up his best numbers stat wise since we got Cooper and it's very noticeable when Cooper is not on the field.

So, yeah, we're not winning without Cooper, but I see us not winning more without him.

Man its tough to disagree with you here because you're spot on with the impact Cooper had. People easily forget how bad Dak was that year the Cowboys traded for him. That said though I'm trying to look at this from a positive view. My hope is the Cowboys actually use this as an opportunity to change the offense from a fundamental scheme standpoint. Coop is a great player, but if we can actually use our resources wisely, rebuild the Oline, I think we can get better usage of the money saved. Where i'm really pessimistic is in the Cowboys ability to use the savings appropriately.

Okay, I get why some fans want to cut both Cooper and Lawrence and also why some fans do not. As a fan of some 60 years, I just want to win the Super Bowl again and again.

Why is no one figuring out what happens if we restructure both of them and what it means to the cap in 2022 and 2023 and 2024. If both are restructured then we gain $24.5 million in cap space. It also pushes that money into the next two years. There is a BUT here also, in 2023 you could cut both after June 1st and still end up adding some $12 million to cap space even with the dead money and KNOW that NFL and NFLPA Look Forward to the Future Salary Cap ; 2023, $231,200,000/$248,000,000; 2024, $249,200,000/$268,200,000 ; 2025, $272,200,000/$288,000,000.

Seems to me for the best results we could restructure, giving us this draft and next draft to find suitable replacements while resigning some guys we need to have without blowing up the roster. Frankly I hate the years where we were drafting anywhere in the top 15, that always meant we sucked during the year.

I get fans are upset how the season ended but if you go back and look at the projections, no one had us over 9 wins and only a few had us finishing 2nd in the division while most had us finishing 3rd. Sure I believe we should have done better but 30 other teams feel that way also. Is our FO flawed? That is a no brainer when the owner is also the GM instead of proven football guys but have to admit he is a helluva of business man or the Cowboys wouldn't be at the top of the food chain in making money.

I am sure most if not all will be disappoint in what we do in free agency, seems we always are. Hoping the draft plays out well for us but I still don't think we need to blow things up for the cap.

DFlaw is a cancer to this team. He is the one left who needs to be cut. He is a fake and just about money not about the sport.

Cooper is a good player at #1 WR. And we should keep him.

Well, according to this tweet in November, Cooper was the 2nd most double covered WR in the NFL (albeit, double teams are still increasingly rare in the NFL as a whole) ...

But when I look at everyone's output on that list, Cooper is the only WR on that list that ended up with less than 1,000 yards. Hell, Coop didn't even break 900.

Yet everyone other than Coop and McLaurin had at least 1,200 yards, and just over half (4/9) had double digit TD receptions. Both milestones (1,200 yard or 10+ TDs) are something Coop has NEVER accomplished in a season of his career in Oakland with Carr or Dallas with Dak.

Now having said that, I wish Coop's contract was much more reasonable so the Cowboys could keep him around. But he got paid and the Cowboys can save a bunch cap space with him gone. So it is what it is.

I wont lose sleep over them leaving. The premise that we aren't winning with them so move on falls apart very easily for me though. 31 teams didn't win the SB, there are players on all those teams worth building around as opposed to moving on from. Hell I'd take KCs whole offesnse since they aren't winning with them any longer.
