Mod can you fix title i meant to say: We're on the clock

and marcel dareus and prince (cb) nebraska is on the board who do you take and why?
and would you be mad if the cowboys went with marcel dareus over prince?

Reason is we draft jenkins who i think just had a down year he is a pro bowler and might return back to form next year. Newman idk what is up with him maybe he is more injured than we thought. and scandrick has played good since Garrett has taken over as head coach.

But our d-line is MIA too often in game. We get no push and isn't really physical in the trenches (which makes your whole defense look good).

I dont think Nick Fairley will be there when we pick.

I draft Amakumara, start him day 1 opposite another open competition between Jenkins and Scandrick, and try Terence Newman as a FS while the young guys get some more development time.

I think Newman could do well as a FS similar to Rod Woodson's move toward the end of his career.

I like the idea of moving newman to FS but how will he hold up, he is already injured almost every year playing cb. We better have a stout front seven because newman is not ultra aggressive but I think he will be better than ball at safety. So if we draft prince and move newman to FS than we might fix to spots with one person. then we will have to address the oline in the second and then defensive line in the 3rd, unless we address the oline in FA.

I take Prince.

A lot of stuff will play out over the next few months but as of now, this is how I see it.

I think Andrew Luck, Patrick Peterson, and Da'Quan Bowers are the can't miss prospects this year. AJ Green is pretty close too.

We have no need for Luck and he's pretty much a lock to go #1. So depending on where our pick is, I stand pat and wait til Peterson and Bowers are taken. If a team is willing to trade down so we can get Peterson, I'll listen, but I'm not going to mortgage our draft for him. If I think Bowers might slip to us then I'm quietly working out a trade to send Anthony Spencer somewhere.

Now, let's say we are drafting 8th and Peterson and Bowers are gone by the 4th pick. I'm not waiting for our pick, I start making calls then. Hopefully, I have done my homework and I've got a good feeling on where the top tackle (assuming we are high on him) is slotted to go. I move down to a comfortable spot and take my tackle. Once I feel safe that we are drafting him, I try to move Marc Colombo. (In the past I always felt we are too open in players we no longer want and teams know we'll end up releasing them). The Raiders and Colombo are a perfect fit and they need tackles. I don't care if I get a 2012 pick but I want something.

I think that where we'll most likely end up will be in Cam Newton, Ryan Mallett territory. Someone is going to get nervous and want to move up and draft them. We can make a (small) move down, get the player we want, and get something for it. Prince Amukamara would be an okay pick if no one is willing to trade up and take our spot. Robert Quinn is intriguing but I don't know if we can afford to gamble on a player again. We need a surefire starter and although Quinn is talented, making the transition to OLB and a year without football scare me a little.
