Were there any injuries tonight? That's the golden question for a preseason game after-all.

just young and he put an ace bandage on it and sat on the bench.

any news on Sam Young?

Right knee sprain per DC.com. Not sure how to link it.

Edit: It's on Ellis' blog.

Sam Young Goes Out With A Knee Sprain
Posted by jellis at 8/28/2010 9:42 PM CDT on truebluefanclub.com

Rookie offensive lineman Sam Young left Saturday's preseason game against the Houston Texans in the fourth quarter after sustaining a knee sprain.

Young, a sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame, backed up Alex Barron. A 6-8, 322-pounder who has fared well in the preseason, Young could miss 4-6 weeks if he has the same injury as defensive end Marcus Spears and guard Kyle Kosier, who were both diagnosed with sprained MCLs earlier in the preseason.

Young was replaced by undrafted free agent Will Barber. Robert Brewster, who started at right tackle in place of Barron and injured starter Marc Colombo at San Diego last week, was the Cowboys' second-team left tackle on Saturday.

Oops. Barker.

I'm not the only one getting names wrong.

If he has to miss 6 weeks. Is it too late to put him on the PUP? Or is that only when the team is in training camp?

Nope. Too late for PUP.

Hopefully this won't get him cut. I think Sam has been really solid for the most part.

great question i was thinking the same thing and dug a little but . Apparantley there are there are actually 2 PUP lists(who knew?) a "active" and a "reserve" . The one you are referring to is the active.

The “active” PUP list is for players who are injured to start training camp. They are allowed to rehab and take part in meetings, but can not practice. A player on the active PUP can be removed at any time and also counts against the 80-player roster. A player must be on the active PUP to be eligible to be placed on the “reserve” PUP.

At the end of the preseason, teams may place players on the reserve PUP. Players on the reserve PUP are not eligible to play for the first six weeks of the season, and do not count against the 53-player roster. Starting in Week 6, players can begin practicing and teams have a three-week window in which to activate the player to the roster or place him on injured reserve.

deintely IR if its an mcl injury, tough luck for Young as he would have made the team too.
