Patriots began pursuing Rams free-agent WR Danny Amendola during the three-day negotiating window last weekend.[/b[

Amendola says, "Thanks, Wes!"

Great run for Welker in New England.
But the Patriots beat the Giants in the Super Bowl if makes that easy catch.
It's not fair, but he has taken a ton of heat for that over the last year.

Not at all saying that's why they didn't offer him more. I think it's mostly the Pats m.o. to not pay aging players other than the franchise QB.

Welkah shouldn't see a drop in numbers with Rocky Dennis throwing to him.

Agreed. As great as Welker has been in NE, whenever I hear his name, that dropped pass is the first thing that comes to mind. It's a shame, but that's how it goes.

@tomecurran Spoke to someone close to Tom Brady. Beyond enraged at contract details that netted Broncos Wes Welker. "Disgrace" "disservice" were used.

49ers should trade some picks to either move up or move them to the next year.

I'm sure Brady is a little put out becasue surely part of the reason he did the cap friendly deal was to get Welker and Sebastian Vollmer.

2 years 12 mill. Fully guaranteed.

Honestly, I'd put his value higher.

He may catch 150 with Peyton slinging it.

...but now that they've completely overpaid for Amendola it should appease him for awhile. Problem is....Amendola isnt' Welker: yet. He needs work and he's smaller than Welker. Wes was short but thick. Danny is so small....I don't see him holding up with similar catches that Wes made...he was already getting beat up pretty bad in St. Louis with much lower production. I have to think Brady is still pissed.:laugh2:

And its even funnier when, just yesterday, Robert Kraft himself, told a reporter that "we want Wes Welker to be a patriot for life". :laugh1:

Welker once bought two hairless rats, threw them into running backs’ meeting room, turned off lights and locked the door from the outside.

One time, when circus was in town, Welker filled garbage bag with elephant (stuff) and hid it above ceiling tiles in another meeting room.

I also think Welker has only missed 5 games since 2005. Amendola, though younger, seems to walk into injuries the last 2 years,
