no argument from me...

If we dont take a RB in the first 3 rounds I'd consider Slaton in the 4th or 5th, but my strong preference is for other RB's first...I dont like spread offense skill guys

I'm a big Slaton fan, but I must admit I've cooled off on him some. it's nothing he did, it's just that it's such a deep RB class that there may be 3 or 4 guys I'd prefer over him.

If Reynaud's size (or the lack of) pushes him deep into day 2, I think he can be an above average punt returner. I'd hate to sacrifice a roster spot for a one trick pony, but our punt return game has been non existent that I wouldn't mind in this case.

Reynaud reminds of me of Skyler Green, who I had very high hopes for. I was pumped when we grabbed Skyler in the mid rounds (4th I believe) ...thinking we just stole a gem. We all saw how that turned out.

Both were studs at their respective Universities.

Slaton was on my radar only because we need a RB. Now, not so much.

However If he is the 2nd RB we draft (Thompson's roster spot) I'll be OK with it.

That's a fair point. They are also very similar in size and speed. I guess I'm just so desperate to see Crayton replaced in return duties that I'd be willing to take flyers on these kids until one of them actually works out.

Slaton lost something this past season due to some injuries the last two years.

However, I know there were a few times where I think he may have lost some heart as well.

The heart and soul of that team is Pat White at QB and he proved it when Slaton would not go in hurt and Pat would come back in hurt.

I haven't seen as many WV games as I wanted to, so maybe you'd know this better than me. Was it a case of Slaton not going back in hurt or a reason for Rodriguez to give Devine more PT?

Steve not going back in hurt many times.

He seemed to have lost some zip and played through it some the year before but I think they held him back more this year so he had less time. Still did not seem to have the same zip though. There were plays he would take to the house the year before but just did not have the same zip.

Slaton really needs to get a few pounds into that 200 lb area, I mean the mental significance of seeing a "2" would help him tons.

I think that's something he'd be able to accomplish w/o a problem (gain weight w/o losing quickness I mean). If you look at him, he seems to have a lot of baby fat still. I think he can put on additional weight and eventually turn that into muscle. It won't happen overnight, but I think it's something he could do.

I think most of these RBs will have playing weights 5-10 lbs higher at the pro level. That includes the speedsters like CJ and Charles.

I have not kept up with him but I don't know if he even worked out on the team day...he left the senior bowl with an injury remember.
