what a CRAZY idea drafting a Center well move FRED over to OG - or the other way around

Vitals & Build

Richburg is listed at 6’4” 300lbs with a relatively ordinary looking build, which is misleading. He has impressive functional strength combined with the fact he is light on his feet with speed and agility. Richburg also appears to have good arm length combined with his long frame so he has pretty good reach. His motor never stops and he plays through to the echo of the whistle. Richburg still appears to have room on his frame to get stronger without losing any of the athleticism that makes him stand out as a player.

System Fit

The most natural fit initially for Richburg is as a center in a zone blocking scheme or something that will take advantage of his range and agility

Richburg headed back to Arizona to train with LaCharles Bentley

against ALA

Richburg showed off his versatility at Colorado State, starting the bulk of his games at center -- a position he never had played until he arrived at CSU -- but also seeing duty at guard and tackle.

That might be because Richburg was from Bushland, Texas, a town of only about 200 near Amarillo, in west Texas

Dont know about moving tfred but a backup OC is a nice idea as we cannot pay phil, costa over $1m to do nothing again.

He looks like a good prospect, but he's projected for the 3rd round. They would have to believe that he could be a very good OG because I don't see them moving Frederick to OG.

Girlfriend's cousin, known him and seen him sparingly over the past 4.5 years. Was a quarterback in high school, watched his game against TCU where he played tackle after breaking his snapping hand the week prior. He started every single game at CSU. Blue collar guy, comes from a very athletic family - will do what it takes to be successful at the next level. Has a mean streak, doesn't back down from anyone. Held his own against Donald and Hageman in O-Line drills during Senior Bowl week (he said Donald was better).

I hope nothing but the best for this guy - and whatever team he goes to will be my 'second team'. I am glad his stock has risen over the past couple of months, along with his high school teammate at CSU - Crockett Gillmore. Can't wait to see what he does at the combine - but he's proved that he can play the game.

Here's a picture of him at Bentley's performance camp - crazy.

Scouts have been talking him up all off season.

Absolute "no" to moving Frederick to OG. But if this kid is there in the 3rd round I'd give it some thought. At the very least he'd the the top backup on game day to all 3 of our interior OL. And he'd likely settle in as our long-term starting RG, while representing one of the best backup OC scenarios you could hope to have. I'm really liking these multi-positional OL.

NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah revealed Colorado State C Weston Richburg barely missed his top-50 prospects rankings.
"However, I am still a card carrying member of the Weston Richburg fan club," Jeremiah tweeted. No interior offensive linemen made Jeremiah's rankings despite seven offensive tackles cracking the top-50. Our own Josh Norris ranked Richburg as the top center at the Senior Bowl. Feb 11 - 12:40 PM
