The Dallas Cowboys waited 44 minutes on the runway at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport before departing just after 2 p.m.

The players, coaches and staff boarded their charter to Point Mugu Naval Air Station, just south of where they will train in Oxnard, Calif., just after 1 p.m. and sat on the runway from 1:18 p.m. to 2:02 p.m.

A problem with some ground equipment prevented them from leaving on time.

A team spokesperson told WFAA's George Riba at the airport that the plane is safe to fly.

The team was due to land in California at 4:15 p.m. Dallas time and should now likely arrive about 5 p.m.

Felix Jones and Terry Glenn no shows as Cowboys depart

From George Riba at DFW Airport:

Cowboys rookie running back Felix Jones and veteran wide receiver Terry Glenn were not on the plane scheduled to depart DFW shortly after 1 p.m.

Of course both have contract issues. Jones, the team's top draft pick out of Arkansas, has not yet signed with the team.

And Glenn is in a dispute over an injury settlement with owner Jerry Jones.

Also of note receiver Sam Hurd and safety Pat Watkins arrived at the airport just minutes before the plane was scheduled to depart.

Why do I have a feeling that is the opinion of most pilots who take off?

Planes are safe to fly...until they crash.

Cut them! :laugh2:

Felix Jones wasn't on the plane but no mention that other first rounder Mike Jenkins wasn't on the plane. Since they share the same agent, you'd have thought both would be on it or both wouldn't be on it. Maybe they got their signals crossed or Jenkins simply wanted to fly out with his teammates no matter what.

Not concerned with Jones and Jenkins, Jerry will get them signed within the next couple of days.

Jenkins hasn't signed either, has he? Did he make the flight?
No idea. Trolling blogs to see if there was any news.

Doubt there's any major holdups on these two. Just a part of the process.

I agree. It's the same thing every year in every Cowboys forum.. everybody starts fretting about signing our top picks, and they wipe their brow in relief when we do... but they'll start the same "God help us" thread next year before camp about the new draft picks.
