I was out at Valley Ranch for the first time since the draft in April, which actually sounds worse than it is, considering they held OTA's at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton after the indoor facility collapsed. But I hadn't been out there since the team returned from San Antonio. A couple of impressions....

The locker room had a slightly different look. There were a couple of tables surrounded by four chairs, and guys were sitting around playing cards. I don't think I've ever seen guys playing cards since I began covering the team a few years ago. I took it as a good sign.

Parking was a lot easier ... read: the circus has left town. Over the last couple years -- if the Cowboys had a huge game coming up, or TO said something to attract attention -- the cars parked along the street outside their headquarters would stretch a quarter mile. Today, parking was a breeze.

Regardless of how under-the-radar the Cowboys are now, that won't last if they start out 4-0. This is the marquee franchise in the NFL and the only way it can hide .... is if the team goes 6-10 this year.

didnt they used to play dominoes under Campo...and then Parcells didn't allow it or something like that. I remember seeing that on Hard Knocks or somewhere.

They bring their lunchpail to work, and can only play cards while they're clocked out to eat...

What is really disappointing is I read the whole post thinking I'd find something of value.

Ted Madden is killer at pickup hoops. No joke. The guy shoots lights out.

At least give him credit for not making something up and quoting and unnamed source. :D

A more appropriate title would have been, "Impressions of Valley Ranch - Post Collapse."

I got that he was saying it was a more relaxed lockeroom, maybe even closer
