Jimmy Johnson return to Cowboys?

Jimmy Johnson on Sunday's Fox NFL Pre-Game show didn't deny the possibility of returning to his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, for another tour of duty as head coach.
In recognition of Veterans Day the network traveled to Afghanistan to recognize the many servicemen and women serving their country. In the special two-hour live broadcast, soldiers were allowed to ask the panel of host various questions.
One female soldier stood and directed her question to Johnson: "Would you like to coach your old team, the Dallas Cowboys again?"
Johnson immediately responded: "Next question."
Later in the show, each host had an opportunity to pick a team that they thought might play in this year's Super Bowl. Johnson -- with a smile and laughter -- chose the Cowboys as his team to again take home the Lombardi Trophy.
OK, so maybe you might want to call Vegas and put a Benjamin on this one, but at the very least it does give Cowboy fans something to ponder.
Could there be a reunion in the mix for team owner Jerry Jones and Johnson? Many will argue that Johnson -- hired by Jones to replace Tom Landry in 1989 -- was the single biggest reason for the resurgence of the Cowboys to its glory days.
Johnson served as head coach for the Cowboys from 1989 - 1993. His teams finished with a winning record three of his five years, including world championships in both his 1992 and '93 seasons.
We here at WFAA-TV we would like to know your thoughts on Johnson's return to the Cowboys as head coach. Would you like to see a coaching change for next season? Do you think that Jones can give up enough control to entertain the idea of bringing Johnson back to coach his team?
Would you like to see Jimmy Johnson return as head coach?

No,

No way,

No way in hell.

This is a different NFL now. I think the players would tune out his coaching style. I think he has been to far removed from the game on the field.

I saw it and was amused by Jimmys answer. When asked if he would return, he didn't say no.

That being said, I don't believe it will ever happen.

Besides, things are going well and even Wade haters have to admit that. And I consider myself one of them. There's no point in talking coaching changes while things are going well.

If the season tanks and Wade is gone then perhaps it will be a ligitimite talking point.

Wade a good coach? Pulease.

A good defensive coordinator.

Be that as it may, Jimmy is just playing games with fans.

Jimmy is not coming back, yet in his master manipulator style, he says enough without saying enough, leaving spellbound fans who can't grasp that the Cowboys have moved on hoping for the day of his return.

Good to see that Jimmy still loves the Cowboys.

He is a good coach. Why bust his ballz when we lose, but give him zero credit when we win? That makes no sense at all...

We have a good coach. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Oh its broke until we get to December. For the most part Wade has not had a problem during the first three months of the season. Will have to wait till December/January to see if it is still broke.

As for Jimmy coming back...I would love it but its probably not the best thing for this team.

So you think he forgets how to coach in December and beyond? I guess Parcells happened to have the same puzzeling issue?

C'mon people, let Jimmy go!

Maybe as a consultant or GM.
His biggest strength is scouting talent and making the best out of draft picks.
He was a great HC, but I'm not sure if he can come back and be as productive.

Jimmy is not going to give up being able to fish 5 days a week for the NFL grind.

Jimmy Johnson has two great seasons under his belt. If he were to come back and tank, how would it look? Hmm?

It will never happen.

Yeah, it's not like Tony Dungy who has been out for a couple months or something...Jimmy hasn't coached in YEARS.

I wonder if he would be a kinder gentler coach. Age does that. Watching coach Snyder come back at Kansas State this year has convinced me some coaches learn and change, but an excellent coach is an excellent coach.
