This isn't event a preseason game and the Cowboys aren't even playing another team, but Terrell Owens just caught a long touchdown pass from Tony Romo.

It was enough to excite this crowd.

Owens beat rookie corner Mike Jenkins for the maybe score in a real game.

They love them some T.O.

The fans packed in here at Texas Stadium have saved their loudest cheers for Terrell Owens.

Quarterback Tony Romo got a big ovation, but on several occasion -- when he took the field and when his name was announced -- the murcurial wide receiver has gotten an even bigger ovation.

Maybe they just agree with T.O.: They love him.

Often criticized rookie tight end Martellus Bennett, from Texas A&M, is working with the first team offense in two tight end sets.
Bennett has been criticized for a lack of focus, but he certainly has the athleticism to perform at the NFL level.

Another TD for T.O., INTs for Hamlin, Scandrick

The Dallas Cowboys are putting on a show for the thousands of fans here at Texas Stadium. I'm estimating at least 20,000 here.

Terrell Owens scored his second touchdown in just a few minutes. This one an end zone jump ball over Alan Ball.

Then when the defense took the field Ken Hamlin and rookie Orlando Scandrick intercepted Richard Bartel passes to open the defensive drill.

Danny Amendola just made a nice over the middle catch against front line defenders and got a big cheer.

Isaiah Stanback gets some time with first team

Isaiah Stanback, who a week ago was the team's fifth wide receiver, is getting some plays with the first team.

With the injury to Miles Austin it would appear the team wants to get Stanback, a converted quarterback, and his athleticism on the field.

Austin was the team's only real deep threat after Terrell Owens.

I really like the Stanback move.

So do I. Hopefully, it will serve to confirm the fact that we need a Boldin or Roy or the like.

What a mismatch.

Ball had to be hating life about then.

I remember this board right after we got T.O. So many people, so much crow to go around. I'm thrilled one of the best WRs to ever play the game has finally found a home in Big D.

So, you really believe this is the same TO that was in SF and PHilly?

That will always remain a good question although perhaps irrelevant at this point...I was definitely in the group that was dead set against TO coming here...What a change of opinion since

I was against it too based on his PAST actions. Now in hindsight if you had told me how he was going to act here, I would have been OK with it.

That said, TO has matured a lot and Jerry as an owner has been just what the doctor ordered for TO. I think Jerry as an owner is one of the main reasons that TO has changed

It's certainlay no insult for any CB to give up a TD pass to an elite WR like TO. He & Randy Moss are in a league of their own. I'm just glad that Jerry signed TO back in 06 whether or not Parcells was on board or not. We'd be in serious offensive trouble w/o him.

It's easy in retrospect to pile on Jerry for a lot of the dumb things he did, especially early on...But from a fan's perspective, I am always amused by the way he gets vilified by opposing fans and the media in general...You'd think every sports fan would dream of an owner like Jerry.

A billionaire owner who is passionate about the product they are putting on the field, particularly with fans in mind (Except when it comes to ticket prices :D)

when TG went down and then the offense and Romo had a great year anyway.

We sneaked up on a lot of teams with Garrett's new offense.

But this year..going it again with TG now gone and not having replaced his vet savy and teams getting a year of film on Romo and Garrett's offense..

..Dallas is going pay a steep price for not having gotten a quality WR in trade or by draft.

That's just my feeling. Both TO and Crayton had injuries last year and we struggled especially when TO was gone. Struggle is a pleasant word for it.

Imploded was more like it.

Deciding that Austin or Hurd or anybody we have as backup could do anything if needed to start was more than a calculated gamble.

I think it clearly puts the season at complete risk if either of the starting WR's goes down.

Then we are going to have to run the ball more, which this OL doesn't do well or we are going to have to split Witten out wide alot and use Bennett inside and I just don't think that is going to scare anybody.

Jerry, before it's too late..get a WR if at all possible capable of at least playing 20 plays a game and doing something if we need him at WR at one of the end positions.

Joe Horn still seems like the minimum there. Or maybe a cutdown player that is worth trading for as backup.

But our WRs behind the starters are completely practice players and raw recruits.

Help.

Sorry, Don't buy it. Not too many teams can handle covering TO and Witten, I don't care who you got on the other side.

If TO goes down, we have a problem. No WR in the draft was going to fix that and you really don't think Jerry had conversations about Roy Williams with Detroit?

Now we have another weapon in Felix.

We did not sneak up on anyone. Protection broke down in the last game vs NY and TO was not at full strength.

Earlier I was for going out and getting a WR but it looks like we are going to have to tough it out and rely on out D to win us some games. Not a bad philosophy.
