Cowboys receiver Roy Williams has been doing a neat thing in this camp ... at least he was until the lawyers got involved.

Williams was taking a little kid ... boy 1 day, girl the next ... out of the stands and on to the sideline to be his special assistant for the day .... they'd bring him water ... carry his helmet ... wipe his sweaty brow ... all the things that every little kid dreams about doing .... and the only people who enjoyed it more than the kid was the parent who watched their kid and took about 97 pictures.

But .... here come the lawyers! And because of liability concerns, if the kid was to get hurt .... no more kids on the sideline.

I know what Shakespeare was saying, and really meant when he said "the 1st thing we do is kill all the lawyers." But seriously .... the 1st thing we do is kill all the lawyers

There are a bunch of kids running around the sideline ...... but as 1 cowboys staffer says ... all those kids have a last name that begins with a J .... and if anybody runs them over they're out of a job.

Oh - by the way .... don't eat the barbecue in san antonio ... I'm just saying.'

I wish somebody had warned me.

Lawyers suck.

Side note: When people actually quote that Shakespeare line, they should really read the context. The line was actually complimentary to lawyers. The point was that if you want chaos (or anarchy) in the world and to get rid of democracy etc. the first thing you should do is kill all the lawyers.

That really sucks. I thought it was a great gesture by Roy.

The liability was the first thing I though of when I read this tidbit yesterday. Unfortunately.

Makes sense though. If Bobby Carpenter gets pancaked into the sidelines and crashes into a small girl. What kinda legal ramifations would come out of that?

Ah yes...what a wonderful society we have when we cannot use common sense...

He is under contract so I would assume he has insurance to cover his injuries.

Her parents would have to pay Bobby for the little girl roughing him up, that's what! :lmao2:

Edit: Doh! I guess me and a poster above were thinking alike!

Note to Dale Hansen.........they knew it was you and gave you the crappy BBQ.....

I wonder where this guy went to get his BBQ. There are some very good places here, and some very bad places.

It's not the lawyers. It's the parents who would sue if something happened to their children.

The lawyers are just the conduit.

No. You head an hour north to Lockhart, TX or west to Luling, TX and experience some of the best BBQ on earth.
