I find it hard to believe that scheme is the only issue. This is the same scheme that has played well for years. This year they are not the same. Our LB’s have regressed. Dlaw is invisible. Byron is getting burnt, and Awuzie, and Brown look like scrubs. Woods is invisible as well, and Heath......well he’s Heath.

It makes NO sense. Two crappy DT’s aren’t killing us alone........Something is wrong. What the hell is it?!

We have to manufacture pressure or it’s going to get uglier really fast IMO.

That's a big part of the problem. There is years of tape running the same plays. Eventually it gets figured out and offensive coordinators don't have much guessing to do. They need to disguise more coverage routes and blitz more as well. This is why turnovers seem to be so hard to find.

I like Marinelli, he's a good defensive assistant, but should hand over the playcalling and game planning. If Richard is calling the plays he should consider the same.

They brought in downhill players and are asking them to play uphill, on their heels instead. It makes zero since. The entire defense are square pegs being hammered into round holes.

This should be an attacking, downhill defense that dictates the tempo. Instead, teams have learned how to crack our bend don't break: chew up yardage underneath until you get to the redzone, then run up the gut. Rinse. Repeat.
