Former HC with Dolphins so he got to learn from his time as interim. Learned from Payton last few years. Regarded as extreme no nonsense. Has Parcells ties and played here.

He doesn’t strike me as a great X’s and O’s guy. So hopefully he’d have connections to great coordinators.

Believe he’d get focus to detail and finishing the play before relaxing which is the teams biggest problem. Taking things for granted.

No

Well, his ties to Parcells and Payton are big pluses but for Jerry, I think his lack of big name and big ego is one of the most attractive attributes that Jerry likes. i wouldn’t be shocked to see him interviewed here and be heavily considered. I’m just not seeing a Saban or Meyer ever meeting Jerry’s main job requirement of being low key and subservient.

A little limited that he’s never been a head coach at any level that Ive heard of, but of course Garrett wasn’t either so that’s not a disqualifier

wouldn't hate it.
good coach.
but there are others I'd prefer.
if those ahead all say no...then I'd be ok to have him here over promoting an asst.
but I'd rather have Urban Legend.

It could work - this team needs an authority figure and someone to fear.

But I prefer an innovator. The NFL has changed rapidly over the past five years. I feel like we need someone who is really challenging norms. To me that’s Lincoln Riley.

This sounds like a perfect Big Splash that Jerry loves to sell the fans on. It’ll probably be him instead of Riley or Meyer

You his godson? He slipped you a C note to post this, eh chap?

He's in the mix. I believe he'll be No. 1,788 called to interview. Wade Phillips' aunt is No. 1,789.

No, no, no, never, never, never, never......MEH, MEH, MEH, MEH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't ever bring that name up to me again....we need to go after the BEST candidate......why didn't you just suggest Bill Bates while you were at it.

Ok, I am better now.....just watch yourself....I am not myself these days.

He was head coach for the dolphins for half the year as interim in 2015 and went 5-7. The Dolphins started 1-3 under Philbin.

I could easily see Kitna staying if he becomes HC because they were teammates on the 2008 Lions.

Don't know if a grit n grind HC can get his message through with all the tours and shopping venues at the practice facility.

I'm starting to realize show slippery the slope can be to this team being trash for the forseeable future.

Payton didn't give him the title of assistant head coach because it sounds pretty. Obviously he thinks there's something there. He'll be a head coach somewhere next year. Definitely preferable to hiring the next college head coach to fail miserably in the NFL!

He’s not a huge name or a “splash” hire, but I think he would do really well, especially with the talent we have.

He did relatively well with his limited chance in Miami, and like you say, he’s been influenced by some great coaches. I wouldn’t be too upset by it

He was a decent journeyman TE about 15 years ago. Next question?

First, at least you didn't throw out a reply that was sarcastic.

Next, to your post, that is why the Cowboys will not see a Superbowl until Jerry passed away because the #1 problem is Jerry's ego as it was with Al Davis. So really doesn't matter what coach walks Dallas sideline because the problem is the GM.
