From the Net:

Did you hear the one about the programmer who outsourced his own job? I read about it on Slashdot.org, the "news for nerds" Web site. A pseudonymous poster wrote, "About a year ago I hired a developer in India to do my job. I pay him $12,000 to do the job I get paid $67,000 for. He's happy to have the work. I'm happy that I only have to work 90 minutes a day, talking code. My employer thinks I'm telecommuting. Now I'm considering getting a second job and doing the same thing."

Of course, his salary takes a hit, but think of all the free time!

:laugh2:

That is pretty clever, but the laughs end when the employer figures out they can save money outsourcing it themselves.

Exactly. Why compensate the middle-man?

That's funny... I'm thinking of hiring an Indian guy to surf this website for me and post witty comments under my username.

Just think of all the time it would save me!

I know a guy that worked for a plastic molding plant. He talked the company in to buying a machine that would do what he did. They bought and he installed it and got it running. Then the company fired him.

He seriously thought they'd keep him around. That is why we call him Einstein Mark. :laugh2:

He also said he could drive from Memphis to Little Rock in an hour. I said I didn't know Ford Tempo's could go 250 mph. :lmao:

You can make the trip easily in two hours, but wow - he would have to be booking it (150 mph)!

I forgot about the construction on 40. Last time I was in Ar-Kansas they had finally made it to Little Rock (from Texarkana on 30).
