Week one game on the line, 3rd and 11, what does our defense do and where is roy lined up?

4th and 14, what does our defense do and where is Roy lined up?

I'll let you know, we blitzed and near the line of scrimmage. If not for the sun Henry makes the play, game over and we still go on to win.

This week on 3 different occasions the game was on the line and what does our defense do and where is Roy lined up? Prevent and Roy is 30 yards down the field. All off season we heard about Roy being closer to the line where he can make plays. For 3 quarters and 10 minutes that exactly where Roy was. Close to the line. Why in the hell would we put him 30 yard down the field when we need a play. Didn't we learn from last year? This can't happen anymore. Our chances of making plays are better when he is causing havoc at the line. If we get beat with the blitz, I still feel better than getting beat with Roy in a 2 deep zone. Its not his strength.

It's called Payton and Zimm getting some ba11s to finish a freakin game off...neither one of them has killer instincts.:bang2:

I'd put it more on Zimmer. Payton got too conservative, but Zimmer backed off in the end of the game, and it resulted in 2 big plays. I'm not sure why you would send 3 or 4 guys to rush the QB and let him just sit back there with the speed the Skins have in Moss. "Gee, I figured it would be a great idea to put Aaron Glenn on Moss, and just let Moss get going full speed, all the wihle allowing Brunell all the time in the world to fling it out there. I mean, what we've been doing has been working all game, why don't I tinker with it?"

That's where our lack of depth at Safety really hurts. We should be able to substitute another FS deep with Davis, in place of Roy, and move Roy up to the line or in the flat in place of a LB.

If you ask me, it falls on all 3 - BP, PAyton, and Zim. The 2 deep kills Roy, plain and simple. But I still blame BP and Payton for that 2nd and 3/4 with 2:04 to go. You don't waste a play with momentum on your side. The entire playbook is open in that situation. The Commanders don't have anytime outs and all we need is a FG. Let the 2 minute warning go off and get that first down within 3 plays instead of letting Washington rest for 2 plays.
