It was a great drive, but it certainly wasn't perfect. That fumble at the goal line could have bounced either way. If the Cowboys lost that fumble then I doubt we would be speaking high praise of Dowdle and crowning him RB1.
Dak's heroic save occurred because of the direction the ball bounced. Therefore, you have to include some rare good luck. On the other hand, wasn't some good luck long overdue?
The drive was especially exciting and even improbable when you consider that the Cowboys last offensive play before that drive was Dak's 2nd INT.
Dak satisfied our hopes instead of most fan's expectations.
It was a memorable drive in a memorable game. Is this now Dak's "signature" game? Too early in the season but it possibly sets up a "signature" game later this season while a loss would have made the term non-applicable.
Dowdle was the hero early in the drive. Later, on a 3rd and 1, Zeke did what he was brought back for.
We saw contributions from our younger players, Ferguson, Tolbert and Luepke, very encouraging.
Winning in this way is something young teams have to learn to do.
