What is it with women and weddings? As my sister and sister in law, and my mom with their daughters, meaning my sister and sister in law. Watched it as they even got up at 4am to watch it. And I had to DVR it. Since I am asleep that time as I ain't a morning person. But that is another story.

But you are only married once in your life. And only once! Plus, try telling that a wedding isn't interesting on tv to over 1B people around the globe on Friday!

Estimated audience for the wedding was 2 billion from what I heard.

Women of course are sentimental about weddings guys..in case you haven't figured it out we're wired differently than men about these things.

And William has been in the worldwide news since the minute he was born...his mom was the most famous woman of her time...of course there is a huge audience and interest in his wedding.

Seriously. Don't even reply to the neg the trolls are spewin.

2+billion people were tuned in and watching. It was nice. It wasn't a huge deal but it was cool to see them married. Royal weddings aren't put on every month.

Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

I actually remember watching Di and Charles's wedding, so it had that extra aspect to it as well. IIRC, they had a HUGE fireworks display that went on forever on TV.

It's a very unique event, and the access the public is given to it isn't comparable to any other royal family around the world. The House of Windsor is very public to the extent of the formalities in the monarchy, and those with a touch of romanticism and appreciation for history of the sovereignty love it.

thank goodness its over with is all i can say. basically - we're having a wedding, you're paying for it but you're not invited. oh and if you could organise some street parties to show how grateful you are that would be super.
been hard to turn the tele on for about a fortnight without seeing it and on the day was just insane.
have to say mind you that both middletons looked stunning, even the mum has aged well.
on a lighter note

In west London Buckingham born and raised
In the palace is where i spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing and relaxing all cool
With my Nans country all underneath her rule

When a flatmate of mine, who i thought was a square
Started making trouble in my underwear
She came to one little parade and my dad got scared
And said "you're marrying this girl before you lose all your hair"

I whistled for a carriage and when it came near
The ring said "Diana" and had a sapphire in the middle
If anything i could say this ring was rare
But my Dad said forget it - "yo holmes to the square!"

I pulled up to the Abby 'bout 11am
And I yelled to my people "yo holmes rule ya later"
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince with no hair.

I think Harry looks very much like his uncle..Diana's brother. I won't go to the Hewitt stuff. I don't believe that.

Your post made me laugh..I've always cared about William because I've been reading and hearing about him for decades and I loved his mom. And as I said before the Brits do the big weddings up right...

This.

I remember getting up early and watching Charles and Diana get married with my grandmother. It was sentimental for me on a number of levels.

So, the US is in dire straights because we're thinking about idle pleasures like the Royals, television and....oh....football?

Good story, bro.

Seriously.

For what it's worth I didn't care a whit about it either, but "OMG YOU DON'T LIKE THE SAME THINGS I DO" argument is so weak.

Diana was so young when she married Prince Charles and they were poorly matched. I think William and Catherine are much better suited to the other and hopefully will make a go of their marriage.

Harry was born before Diana even meet James Hewitt and even he said in his book there was no way he was Harry's father.
