A win against the Giants means:

1. The overall record goes to 62-42-2; that would be a 20 game cushion over this division rival. The Giants would need to sweep the Cowboys for an entire decade to tie them in overall standings.

2. Dallas would have 5 wins in a row against the Giants. The last time that happened was from 1992-1994. The Cowboys most consecutive streak against the G-Men was 12 straight from 1974-1980. Staubach pretty much had their number (of course, Danny White got that 12th win).

3. Dallas increases their Opening Day record to 36-17-1 .678; currently the next closest is Denver at .635. No team has come close to the Cowboys 17 Opening Day wins in a row from 1965-1981.

4. Dallas goes to 1-0 with a Division/Conference win under their belts.

5. Dallas will move ahead of Green Bay with their 22nd win on Sunday Night Football. Unfortunately, the Cowboys already have 25 losses on Sunday Night. The only team close to that are...

...the New York Giants at 23. So let's give them loss #24!!!

Thought dallas already had 5 in a row? Thought this would be the 6th.

Well, with all that on the line, I say "Make it so, #1." Lets do this!

While all that is certainly interesting, I'm more concerned about starting off 1-0.

Another note...

A win would make us 3-4 vs the Giants in AT&T Stadium, with 3 straight wins.

Remember all the grief we took for being unable to beat them at home? Well, the Giants are 1-4 against us in MetLife Stadium. That'll be 1-5 after this year.

What a win against the Giants means is that we're beating the teams that we should be beating.

When we can consistently do that it'll mean that we've taken the next step as a team.

I'll buy that. I also happen to believe the Cowboys can beat any team in the league. This team is looking to be very special.

I think it starts turning the vise that is the NFC east on all the east teams knowing that a division win hurts their chances for getting invited to the big dance.
Giants D are without a legit secondary and DLine has lost its best player, Offense is without Cruz and a proven run game seems like we have some exposures to explore.

If we can put a good beat down on the Giants. Shows the NFC East the road still goes through Dallas....as well as it goes through us on the road too. As we did go 8-0 on the road last year.

We beat them 5 of the last 6 games

We beat them 4 out of the last 5 in their new stadium

We have won 2 straight in our new stadium but they have the advantage.... 4-2

#4 is the only one that matters. Go Cowboys.

And nobody will ever write about it online.

I here I thought it just meant Dallas would start the season 1-0 and 1-0 in Division and NFC. :)
