Will we strip Mike from play calling, and hire someone from the outside to call plays, or will we let one of Mike's guys already on the staff call plays?? That coach could end up being a scapegoat if things start off bad.

I think if we hired from the outside, it would possibly be a guy that Jerry wants. Keeping a guy from within keeps things easy for our players. I think we can all agree that we would like to see some new plays for our offense! Please give me your thoughts

Since Moore left McCarthy has proven he isn't a top notch play caller. There is no one in house that can do the job I'm aware of. Bringing someone in likely has to get the McCarthy vote of approval.

If McCarthy doesn't want to give up play calling that might be a deal breaker for him staying in Dallas. I'm sure Jerry won't insist of any change if McCarthy stays. Ugh.

What? We had the #1 scoring offense last year. And #4 in yards . The first year without KM.

I don’t think Mike will be here if they hire a OC he doesn’t approve of. I don’t think he will give up play calling as well.
That's tricky I could see him still being here if that happened, people do weird things to stay here

I think the same, he surely doesn't want to give up play calling, he could still be heavily involved, and name the TE coach the OC

Well Mike dont get a pass from me. He had had KM calling offense and it wasnt bad, and needed some growth which he has shown but MM made him the scapegoat and insisted he didnt run the ball. MM took over playcalling and ran the ball even less and he had a good year last year but its been bad this year. Mike has had both scenarios, and I dont need to see him with another OC or him calling plays. If he gets another OC I dont want a MM OC- I want someone who has no ties to MM and is running his own offense and MM goes back to game manager status. But this is one of the reasons, I dont want him back. He has had opportunities doing both, and it doesnt work. I dont want him having 2 years of his offense or 4 years of someone else and then he can use them as the scapegoat like he did KM.
