He may be okay as a 3rd stringer, but he doesn't really add much at RB, and is kind of smallish for a FB.

Agreed. He's too much of a tweener imo.

Nothing wrong with being a tweener. In fact, sometimes the tweeners are the ones that give you the most productivity because they give you variety.

I would be all for it but I think he has issues holding on to the ball if I recall correctly.

We certainly don't need a fumbler. I guess a tweener does have the benefit of being able to back up 2 positions, but if he does neither particularly well the benefit isn't really that great.

Isn't John Kuhn from the Packers going to be a free agent? He could play a true FB and still fill in as a 3rd string RB if need be. Probably not going to really have a shot at him - the Packers will want him back, and with them going to the Super Bowl he will probably try and work a deal with them first. He also may be overpriced after playing with a Super Bowl team.

Brian Leonard is a Halfback, not a Fullback imo. He never was a Fullback and teams tried forcing him into that position. He's an awesome 3rd down back.

He has performed pretty well as a receiver out of the backfield.

I think the talk about him as a FB in the NFL was probably always just a search to find a way to justify his presence on a team since he was never going to do much as a RB. Versatility helps his chances to hang around.

If Garrett chooses to utilize the backs more in the passing game, Leonard may not be a bad pick up. Probably wouldn't cost much either.

Has he had fumbling issues? Just looked up his stats and looks as if he's had only one fumble in 4 yrs.

Or because he is white lol.

He paved the way for Ray Rice to an 1800 yard season in college.

Smart, tough kid who can catch. Would be a solid move

I agree, and even better he has a great team attitude. The year before Ray Rice had that great season he himself had a outstanding season and there was even talks of him being one of the best backs in college football but instead he decided to become a fullback for Rutgers and let Ray Rice get the spotlight

How unbelieveable...stupid. You probably thought I was going to say giving. No, he did the right thing. Ray Rice made the team better. And they still gave the ball to Leonard every once in a while. :)

Post more Jersey. I've seen much worse ideas come through this board.

:)
