Right now I don't see a whole lot we can do in FA, but sign a FB.

The way I see it is we have holes to fill at FB, C, FS, and OLB.

In my mind we go to the draft for our FS and OLB. No reason not to. Tons of talent at these positions in the draft.
I also would like to draft a C, but is there one worth taking in the later rounds we can count on. Center is really scaring me.

In FA there is Flannigan and Mitchell left, but I really dont like either one.

Left in FA at FB though is F Beasley, M. Strong, N Davenport, and J Sowell. Why not sign one of these guys? All could make an impact, and also help in the middle of the O-Line. Fullbacks do not cost that much, and IMO it would be a nice upgrade at the position.

FB is what I hope we do next. Let's open some holes for JJ and MB3.

Is Mack Strong really available?

Unless my info is wrong. I had him listed as a UFA before FA, and I have seen nothing of him being signed.

I would like to have J. Sowell. He opened holes for C. Martin, has history with Parcells and and would add to special teams as he is a beast there as well. And to add a better pass catcher than Polite.

Also Beasley might be off the market, he would have been an excellent pick up as well! I haven't seen this confirmed anywhere yet but I found this on another message board:

Dolphins | Beasley signed

<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/17">Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Miami Dolphins have signed free agent FB Fred Beasley (49ers) to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

You are right that he is not your typical FB, but he can and has played both RB, and FB.

I really dont see the need to go out and sign a FB. To me that would be a waste of money. IN this system, there FB is NOT on the field that often. i really dont see the need to go signa player for 3 plays a game. I really just dont think this is a NEED at all.

FB's come cheap.....it's truly one of the most underrated and underappreciated positions in the NFL.

Having a good FB means a better running game and another threat in the red zone! In 2002 when Bledsoe was with Buffalo he hooked up with Larry Centers for some big time plays!

In this system, which one is that?

We have been running a lot of 2 TE sets instead of putting a FB in, mainly because we do not have one that can do the things BP wants. Make no mistake that BP loves playing FB's. Remember Richie Anderson.

So it is not about the system, but the players in it, and with Dan Campbell now gone who are we going to rely on in those 2 TE sets as an extra blocker. I would rather go with one of these nice FB's.

I think the reason that the FB isn't currently used much is because the Cowboys don't have one. They sure used Richie Anderson when he was here. And isn't it always better for the offense to have as many weapons as possible?

I think the fullback position can definitely stand to be upgraded and Sowell would definitely be an improvement. The guy did contribute to Curtis Martin leading the league in rushing just two seasons ago.

Ok,, But I would hope this would the LAST thing we pick up. If we have enough cap room when everything else has been addressed and we have room for a luxury item.. then get one. No way do I sacerfice anything on this team to sign a FB. Polite will be just fine.. FB is not a position in this system that plays a major role. Bill P likes to go 2 TE and motion for a lead blocker. Very little just str8 up and run it down the throat except on short yardage. JJ best play is the draw.. i just don't see the need to go out and seek a FB.

How many more items do you have on your list?

And, again, I think the FB played a significant role until the team lost Richie Anderson. Why not get a suitable replacement or at least upgrade the position?

Even the best fullbacks typically make less than $1 million.....
