What about Fred Beasley

Personally I always liked him. The 49ers have said they will not resign him, and Beasley doesnt want to stay, he has gotten into some fights with the RB coach. So he will be a FA now. He is a great lead blocker, and can catch and run abit too, plus he is a vet, I think Parcells should sign him, it wont be that much and we really need a real FB, not Crapaka Polite.

tell me about it. it would be nice to see JJ get a real lead block from time to time. plus beasley already has experience, and can catch etc. too.
Hopefully Parcells is paying attention, I really do not want another season of that worthless lump Lousaka starting at FB.

will be 32 next year. Not too old for a FB. he definitely still has some gas in the tank for probably 2 years.

hmmm......if he works out great, if not, I am fine without him. We definately need a road grater there. Where the heck is Jamar Martin when you need him.

Probably looking for an apartment in Rhein so he has somewhere to stay during the season.

I thought that Polite got better as the season progressed. With Julius and Barber already here to split carries and catch the ball out of the backfield, and Bill's love of the two TE sets, I don't think FB is very high on the list of needs. I think Polite gets another real shot.

Our next FB is on the Rutgers' roster. I forget his name, but he's the next Alstott. Block, catch, and run...you name it. Size and speed too.

I have no idea where this kid's gonna go in the draft, but he'll make some OC's job a whole lot easier.

....and our O is so much older than our D, so no thanks to Beasley.

This offseason should be about upgrading and rejuvenating our offense w/ some youth.

Give me a new (young) starter on OL, WR, and a move the chains FB and I'll be a happy camper.....and a new PK of course.

FB is a hard position to draft imo. they will go young on the OL and another WR probably. I think a vet FB would be nice, but I would not mind us drafting a FB in the last couple rds if he can be a great blocker and open up the running game.

I vote no - the last two years picking up veteran RB has not worked out for us so I wouldn't like to do it again.

Brian Leonard.

But he is a Junior and hasn't declared.

If he does, he'll be the first FB off the board. You want to spend that high on a FB?

That fullback has announced that he's gonna return to college for his senior season... his name is Brian Leonard...

As an alternative, I'd recommend Shawn Willis from Oklahoma State, a 260 pounder some consider the best lead blocker in this draft... he's 260 pounds, and can still run a 4.75 40... and of course, I really like Mark Bernstein from Wisconsin, but I figure he'll be a first day pick, maybe early second day, and I don't figure the Boys would look at a FB that early... Willis looks like a 5th or 6th rounder at this point...

Depends on when that first FB is taken. FBs traditionally don't go that high and if the first FB is taken in the 3rd, then yeah, I would spend it on this kid.

He's versatile enough that I think he can contribute on offense. I picture him being a factor in the short passing game and in the red zone.

I didn't realize he was only a junior.

Or should have drafted Najeh Davenport when we had the chance instead of Jamar Martin.

Davenport would have gone much higher but before the draft he was arrested for pooping in another student's dorm room closet -- I believe it was an ex-girlfriend and he broke into the room to do it.

It explains why a lot of teams passed.
