What about LBs

LB is a wait and see, let the ones we've brought in work and go from there. Theve addressed it brought in depth at fa and trade drafted a guy let me work and develop under Flus.
I can see Sanborn and Liafau feeding off each other and making a big difference this season under Eberflus. I get Sean Lee vibes from Sanborn film in run support.

CB, specifically Nickle is most glaring. Then DT.

I'm ok with OT I think Guytin has a better season and Steele will benefit from scheme and health
only if our late rd picks really step up is DT NOT the weakest part of the D

I dont know if I would say the LB group is a bad one, but they havent done that group much of a favor by not addressing the run game along the front four better. I mean you go get a guy like Kenneth Murray, I would think that you would invest in some true run pluggers up front to let him use that athletic ability to run free. Sanborn can be more of that downhill hole filler type of LB that can cover up some of the issues up front, but the concerns about him being able to play 3 downs is legitimate. Itll be interesting to see if anyone can truly step up and be a full time starter among the group, or if its a massive rotation at LB.
Yes, I agree with your Post hopefully Mazi Toia and Rogers are legit in the trenches and make a positive impact and these linebackers can run to ball and feast.

Discussion on “talking Cowboys” and other Podcast , about what part of the team still needs attention. They Talked about OT, CB, DT etc.
What about off the ball LBs. no Dog in that room. I couldnt tell you whos starting at Sam, Mile or Will. To me thats the glaring weakness on this team. If the DTs do play better, who can we count on to plug the gaps, so safety are not making so many tackles down field.

None???? no dog ?? according to who?? I like this group i bet they will surprise you ... all internet Gms please sit down the experts in here are a bit tiresome....

The actual experts brought this group in for a reason..,, stay tuned.

Let the process play out..

BTW the eagles went into last season with 2 rookie corners and bargain basement LB and it turned out pretty well,...

You Baughn had zero dog history. He now got paid.

Good thing you cant tell us its not your jobs its what camp is for the staff knows what what they have and they will let the completion lay ointment and pick the right group....

I like this group. More worried about DT and Corner on D....

Tackle, TE on O

FYI As long as the team has dogs on it and some dogs on the staff they will be fine.they will have leadership.

I hoping for Sanborn and Liafau too
I just dont see a really strong player here. Clark was less then impressive. And dont know much about the other LBs that we bought in. I not saying this group cant be good, but dont understand why the LBs are not considered a needing upgrades. 1 low round draft pick and one from another team that hasnt set the world on fire. Hope im wrong, i certainely can be convinced otherwlse. Big fan of the LB position.

I agree CB is concerning, hopefully Ravelle can hit the ground running. Loosing J Lewis is concerning.

Oddly, they didn't add more quality to this unit, especially seeing how much Eberflus values the position. I'm not sure they are done.......maybe waiting to see what Sanborn and Murray can do.
I had hoped for Kendrick to come back. He played pretty solid last year

My comparison was to 2023. Are you suggesting 2024 had one more game than 2023?

Let what sink in? That last we we struggled stopping the run? Great saunknin like an anchor into soft marshmallow fluff.

2023 we were 5th in league against the run and the same Barkley your slobbering over the year prior in 2023 rushed for a grand 68.71 yards per game.

Almost suggests it's more than just him eh?

Still doesn't negate your silly assertion that teams run at will and we don't need at Nickel CB.
Good teams have ran at will against us when it counts the most.

I really don’t think the LB group is so bad. There’s potential there.

I am 1000x more worried about the guys in front who protect them. Seems to be all about getting after the passer.

IMO the front office is still counting on Overshown to a certain degree as a possible fixture for the LB spot. So, IF, he returns back to normal(26?), they just need a competent LB for the other LB spot.
We got Sanborn who is an average LB when they need 3 on the field.
Then you got Liufau who will be entering year 2 for a bigger role potentially.
Not high on Clark turning the corner, but it is year 4 for him.
Murray should get some snaps too for 2025.
James could get some snaps depending on how ready he is.

Odds are there will be no stud for 2025. But if they can get some improvement from Liufau, and guys like Sanborn and Murray can excel in the packages they are placed into then hopefully it won't be a big weakness.
I foresee a meaner tough going onto the carpet this year. Lots of playing time to match.

In 2023, the Dallas Cowboys' run defense was ranked 23rd in PFF's run-defense grade (59.6). They also ranked 29th in opponent rushing yards per game, giving up 137.1 yards per game.

We were 5th in total yards, not run Defense.

So, is that now improved without a Jerry, Dak, and Coach?

Speaking of LB’s it would seem given Eberflus starting out as a LB coach wouldn’t it make sense to play Parsons away from line in an Overshown mode where it’s more free roaming then rushing the passer down after down getting worn out by 300 plus Lb linemen .
