What about Maliek Collins?

After Maliek Collins' great rookie year where he had 5 sacks, some thought he would take another step and become a true dominant force as a 3 tech in 2017.
Obviously that didn't happen, and being moved out of position to the 1T didn't help.
Who thinks that, since reports indicate he's been moved back to 3T, he could truly take that next step and become a real cornerstone piece on that DL?

He played most of last year with a broken metatarsal.

I think he could be a pretty good fit for what Marinelli wants in a 1T. He needed more power. He may have it by now.

Because of the perplexing D1 aversion of Marinelli MCollins was shifted over to D1 position.
Since Nelli is a genius I will not adjudicate.

I was sky high on Collins after his rookie year. His rookie numbers were actually better than Warren Sapp's. I thought we had our own cornerstone 3T. Then last year happened and he didn't look the same. At this point I don't know which guy is the real one and I'll have to see what he does this year and if he can stay healthy enough to show it.

He needs to stay healthy and consistent on the field. I hope he can be a solid contributor this season— but he has broken the same bone in his foot twice.

Lower body injuries on big dudes scare me... I hope it’s an anomaly— but so far he has not been durable enough to really be able to be counted on for much

This broken metatarsal can be a lingering injury so do not discount this in evaluating last years performance. IMO if his foot is back to par we should see a vastly improved talent on the field.

I don't doubt his talent. He's got good pass rush skills. Explosive first step. Terrible balance though. He plays on the ground a lot.

The Cowboys are the ones who messed him up playing at the 1. But a large man like that with brittle feet isn't good.

Only concern I have with Collins his the issue with his foot. If he is past that the guy is a tough player and quick off the snap, this defense will be much better with a healthy Collins in the lineup.

Same bone, different feet.

More than his foot problems , the asinine "position flex" the Cowboys keep yammering about has me far more concerned...................Why start moving a kid around after he excelled at a particular position ?
