What about signing Randy Moss?

I'm not so sure he is a lock. There are Cowboys who should have been locks but there still not in. Moss lacks a team identity to push him through. Who did he play for? The most talented receiver isn't the question and in fact that will be held against him. Probably the most talented receiver ever but failed to overcome himself for the team. I don't really have any animosity towards him, he is what he is. I just don't think he embodied what the HOF is all about.

No vote

He's as talented a WR as LT was at LB IMO. You can argue that all you want but the point remains that not everyone in the HOF is clean. Who got in more real trouble; Irvin or Moss? I love Michael and I don't esp like Moss but I'd say Irvin. You can debate that all you want but the fact is Michael wasn't clean. Now I would say Michael was the epitome of a teammate. If they really hold the 'all me not the team' against him then maybe he's not a first ballot guy.

I got an idea, I think the Cowboys should sign every high profile player that hits the market!

Problem is, he brought his behavioral problems with him on Sundays and allowed them to influence how he played at times. The only time he played his best is when he played the Dallas Cowboys and that was likely a grudge he held against them.

Playing half hearted and uninspired absolutely should be a consideration when HOF voters cast their ballots.

Lt and Micheal share something that Moss never had. Love of the game, a burning desire to win no matter what cost, to lay it on the line. That fire that elevates the team. I judge Moss strictly by his on field actions and to me he didn't exemplify what a HOF player should exhibit. He may get in but in 10 years from now you won't be able to remember anything special that he did.

My favorite posts on the subject are the ones that say:

1. He has something left in the tank
2. He still has tread on his tires
3. He still has the wheels
4. Lets kick the tires and see what he has left

Why don't we just shop for players at CarMax? :)

With our front office, that might be more effective than our current strategies.

I understand why people feel that way but I just look at the field. Maybe he took off more plays than some WRs. I've seen some great ones take plays off.

And if he were that dedicated to the game LT wouldn't have played high or drunk. And there are plenty others in the HOF who played impaired at times.

I don't like the guy but I can say that about some in the HOF. However, for some years this guy was the most dangerous WR to ever play the game. I do wonder how great some guys could have been had they been as dedicated as Irvin, Rice, Staubach or Witten.

I believe that the way he acted up on the field SHOULD be held against him. The trouble he caused in the Locker Room as well.
Those factors frankly to me say he really does not belong. But then there are more than a few in the HOF that should not be.
I think when you have the physical gifts that Moss was BORN with then you should work just as hard as those that do not have it. Irvin was a better WR then Moss because when it mattered Irvin was there and worked like no one else to get there. True Irvin had off the field problems BUT the more then made up for them overall. You CANNOT say that about Moss.

Are we signing the 1998 version on fantasy draft on Madden? If so, I am for it.

Cash, money, yo.

2 words..........

Dez Bryant.

He needs to touch the ball as much as possible and the worst thing you could do to his head is have Randy Moss in it.

The kid is now scary good. Leave it that way.

Sure lets sign Moss,we should also bring back T.Owens to.I hear he is broke,so we could sign him cheap.Do you really want a headcase like Moss at this point in his career?

Before you jump all over the thought just consider...

The man has always been a thorn in our side since he thought/wanted to be drafted by the boys

Likely is getting a vet min contract and still has some skill to play

Has been praised by Belichick for his knowledge of the game and could provide great a great mentor for dez and the younger receivers as well as depth

My main point is a receiver coach is great, but to be able to take tips from a hall of fame WR who knows he isn't the top dog anymore is priceless

Why is it that with each and every cast off someone has to post.."What about ....?" ? I do understand why, but doesn't it seem like the teams that win the Superbowl, divisions and last for a long time tend to be teams that are built via the draft and well-timed free agents, not those that are released and are quite old. Then again this is Jerry and logic when it comes to football matters is non-existent.

I just wish this team could get younger with better talent across the board, but then again I wish I were taller, richer and better looking. I truly believe one will happen before the other. I'll let you guess which. :laugh2:
