If we can't keep Mike McCarthy, what about Steve Sarkisian? He's done well with Texas. He seems to have built a great culture at Texas. He was the OC with the Falcons from 2017-2019, so, he's got NFL coaching experience. Perhaps we could have something there? Plus, he's not a HC retread.

Would he seriously consider leaving UT?

Would he seriously consider going back to a OC?

Two big questions.
I'm talking about him becoming a HC. I meant to say if we can't keep Mike McCarthy, I'd like Sarkisian. With that said, depends on if Jerry can make him a good offer, and if Steve wants to be an NFL HC.

Putting a recovering alcoholic in Sarkisian with a full blown alcoholic in Jerry Jones doesn't seem like a great idea.
Jones creeps in at 2:30 in the morning, a week after Sarkisian's hiring...

Gene: "Jerral Wayne! Where have you been all this time THIS time???"
Jerry: "I've been *HIC* I've been talking Cowboys *HIC* with Stevie, dear."
Gene: "oh. OHHHH! Well. That's fine then. Goodnight."

He's not leaving Texas but Even so do I need to mention every one thought Nick Saban and Urban Meyer and Bobby petrino and Chip Kelly and others that have been great college coaches failed in the NFL why would he leave that comfortable gig his names not in the hat i don't think you're bringing him here....

Mainly because he's not ready to leave Texas he just getting started in the SEC he's just seeing this through do you think he wants to give up a chance the coach arch manning now they're going into the arch manning phase of the SEC transition this is what he's been building towards. I'm a Longhorn fan and I think that Sark is good but I don't think he's anything special I just think he's a really good coach but Nick Saban was out of this world Urban Meyer these dudes were like top notch college coaches that couldn't get it done....

I mean if we're gonna bring his name in it how about the Georgia head coach or the Clemson head coach or there's other ones that people are talking about Notre Dame I mean these guys are also worth the mention but one are they interested in two remember the list I just gave you up there those dudes failed show me the last actual college superstar head coach that came into the NFL and had success and don't say Harbaugh Jim Harbaugh is already an NFL guy and he just came back....

But truly who's the last blue chip superstar big name head coach from college that was super successful then came over and was successful in the NFL I'm just curious...

He would have way less power, less staff, less of say-so in “buying the groceries” to cook with. And he might even take a cut in pay. I cannot stress enough how unattractive the head coaching job here has become.

Look I'm a Longhorn fan and I'm telling you the defensive coordinator and what that defense is doing is more impressive than what Sark is doing he is the OC and the head coach and I see a lot of issues with our offense at times but sure I think he'd make a great offensive coordinator to start in the NFL to see if he's even worth a head coaching job but he's not available he's not interested but I'm not sure the transition would be much different than Meijer or Saban or Chip Kelly or all those guys I mentioned in my other post Bobby petrino I mean come on Urban Meyer they didn't make it over here...

But if you look at Texas and again I'm a Longhorn fan what that defense has done the last two years is far more impressive it looks like a prostyle defense then what the system created on offense with Sark I don't know man I do like all the motion and misdirection but I'm not sure how that would workout and again I'm a huge Longhorn fan I'm just telling you why bring up a name and he's not interested he's never came up and said he'd be interested in leaving and I'm telling you I believe he started something and he hasn't finished it yet they literally wanna win the SEC he wants to do it with arch manning so I don't think that's on the table right now I know he has an ego big enough to coach in the NFL..
