Bring both in then as a package deal but he needs to stay at UT for now.
Then resign McCarthy for another 2 years while Sarkisian gets Manning ready at the University of Texas. Then definitely tank all of 2026 (McCarthy's last extended year) to solidify the #1 overall draft pick, because that is what it's going to take to be able to draft Arch Manning for the 2027 Draft.

If not, fans need to stop complaining and just do whatever other dumb moves of "Winning out" with whomever y'all want...which will ultimately get this team no where.

I don’t believe Jerry would be willing to pony up the buyout of Sark’s contract. As high as $54 million and then pay Sark well over $10 million per year which is what he makes now. UT’s football program is run by smart people. The Dallas Cowboys are run by stupid people.

Valid point, perhaps a smaller school coach that has been successful like a Tim Polasek? He just won the FCS National Championship with North Dakota State.

Honestly, keeping McCarthy is a good option imo. I'm just thinking of Jerry lets him go or if McCarthy flat out doesn't want to coach here anymore who might be good options.

If McCarthy refuses to come back, sign Mike Vrabel for the short term. Steve Sarkisian will not leave Texas while Arch Manning is up next to become his next starting QB for the next 2 seasons at UT. The Lions' Ben Johnson will not come here unless he is offered the head coach position, plus he will want a long-term deal, thus x'ing out bringing in Steve Sarkisian in 2027.

Lots of decisions to make.

That is some wild tangent there, I am not complaining. I want Arch here after Dak and Dallas can always move up if need be…..teams do it all the time. I simply said that Sark will not be leaving with Manning starting up.

I think Vrabel is going to New England. I think maybe going the college route might be an idea. Tom Polasek (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Polasek) might be a good young idea. He's 45, just won a championship with North Dakota State in FCS. Their offense looked good. Or, if we want a culture builder, perhaps someone like Kenny Dillingham (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Dillingham) at Arizona State. The job he has done at Arizona State, and the way he had them fighting in that game against Texas with significant talent deficiencies aside from their running back and defence, I could see him building a good culture here too. Plus, he's 34, so we'd have a young coach who has led a team against all odds to the playoffs.

What about him......because he is coaching Texas?

Mainly that and I heard Greeny mention him on the Pat McAfee Show, though, if not him, and I may make a separate thread, Kenny Dillingham (Arizona State) might not be a bad option either.

.....so you ok with a College Coach, unable to hire his own staff, because they have been in the CFP........hmmm. A complete rebuild......maybe. But with our team, that simply needs some readjustments........no.

Look I'm a Longhorn fan and I'm telling you the defensive coordinator and what that defense is doing is more impressive than what Sark is doing he is the OC and the head coach and I see a lot of issues with our offense at times but sure I think he'd make a great offensive coordinator to start in the NFL to see if he's even worth a head coaching job but he's not available he's not interested but I'm not sure the transition would be much different than Meijer or Saban or Chip Kelly or all those guys I mentioned in my other post Bobby petrino I mean come on Urban Meyer they didn't make it over here...

But if you look at Texas and again I'm a Longhorn fan what that defense has done the last two years is far more impressive it looks like a prostyle defense then what the system created on offense with Sark I don't know man I do like all the motion and misdirection but I'm not sure how that would workout and again I'm a huge Longhorn fan I'm just telling you why bring up a name and he's not interested he's never came up and said he'd be interested in leaving and I'm telling you I believe he started something and he hasn't finished it yet they literally wanna win the SEC he wants to do it with arch manning so I don't think that's on the table right now I know he has an ego big enough to coach in the NFL..
Sark play-calling is a head scratcher at times. Second and 3 from about mid-field with near 5 1/2 minutes left and a 2 TD lead and he calls a deep pass. I guess you, as a play caller, have to trust that your veteran QB knowns better than to throw that ball into double coverage. But run the ball, burn the clock and take 2 good chances to get a new set of downs and burn more clock.

Yes, if they can bring about 1. A good culture and 2. Can bring a new attitude to the team.

Sark is signed through 2030 and has a massive buyout, as high as $54 million. That equates to untouchable for cheap *** Jerry Jones. He’s not going to pay that. And Sark already makes over $10 million per season. Jerry’s not going to pay that. Professional football coaches do it the job for money. In order to get a head coach to come from a top head football coaching job to a toilet like the Dallas Cowboys it will take more money than Jerry would ever consider paying.

This pretty much destroys any dream of Steven Sarkisian ever coming to coach the Dallas Cowboys.

Sark aint dumb enough to leave those deep pocketed Longhorn boosters while coming off his Ewers led team of the last 2 years and leading into his Manning led team for these next 2.

For that reason, he's staying put for a minimum 2 years I'd bet.

If we can't keep Mike McCarthy, what about Steve Sarkisian? He's done well with Texas. He seems to have built a great culture at Texas. He was the OC with the Falcons from 2017-2019, so, he's got NFL coaching experience. Perhaps we could have something there? Plus, he's not a HC retread.
Jerry is the problem how many times you gotta be told

Vrabel will sign somewhere shortly, and it won't be here because the decrepid one will leave MM dangling from the stern of this yacht because at least there, he can control him.

after the ohio state game , Sark stock will either shoot up or down. Texas gave him all the tools and the money to win it all . Losing at AT&T will not go down very well.

Vrable isn't coming to the Cowboys. No coach who has options is going to touch this franchise. If McCarthy leaves the only choices are Kellen Moore and Jason Witten.
