I agree all three phases of the team must be held accountable! However let it be noted that the days of the lockdown iron curtain doomsday Defenses are gone. The league has changed the rules ( and officiated) to allow for more scoring.

In all the games yesterday, every winning team ( except Viking game) scored a minimum of 25 pts. If your offense can't score 25, you aren't going to win many games. Half of the winning teams (7) scored more than 31 pts. The fans wanted more scoring, and the NFL is intent on providing.

To be honest, I am so sick of watching the Cowboys team play football with a bad defense. It it really wearing on me as the years go by. We keeping investing in it but the results are never there. When are we going to get a playmaker in the secondary? Even when we had a decent pass rush (2007, 2009) we still could not make a play on the ball or get a pick when we really needed one.

What makes it worse this year is we really needed them to step up when Dez and Romo went down and they completly laid an egg giving up 31.7 points a game and not creating even one turnover. We also look like the most out of shape defense in the league. I watch a lot of NFL football and I still see other teams losing the time of possesion war and still fly around and make plays in the 4th quarter (see the Steelers last two games with a backup and 3rd string QB).

I believe Jerry and Jason's strategy to coddle the players and sit anyone with even the slightest bump or bruise in training camp along with the total distain for the preseason games has created a soft, poor tackling team that lacks the necessary stamina to win games on the defensive side of the ball. I hope they come out with a whole new aggressiveness after the bye week, but unfortunately it looks too much like the 2010 season to me.

I sure hope Jerry an
