What approach will McCarthy use with Dak?

Will it be a calm approach with Dak, or will Mike have a sense of urgency with Dak, knowing what's on the line. His head coaching job, and Dak possibly losing out on money next season?

Being that Mike will call plays, he will have a closer relationship with him, and will have more access to him. I think Dak can/will benefit from having someone such as Mike get with him during games. What approach do you feel will best work? Do you think Dak is capable of handling this and being successful. Often times during the season, we saw Dak make a mistake, come to the sideline and nothing was said it appeared. Please give your thoughts......

It’s impossible to know. He’s been his head coach for 3 years already. He should already be coaching him up but there is no evidence of that. Give some examples of what you mean bc I don’t think we will see anything. Maybe behind the scenes it may be different but we won’t be privy to that.

I think this year there's a higher sense of urgency. Maybe he feels pressured with all the changes that were made this off season letting kellen go etc, that time is of the essence. He'll be play calling instead of focusing on the ENTIRE team, I feel he'll have more access to Dak

I think it will remain the same. Mike has been around Dak over three years now so I am sure he knows what approach to take. And MM isn't completely changing the offense.

After plays last year Dak usually went straight to Moore because MM wasn't calling the plays, so it will be interesting to see what happens after a turnover, etc. this year.

I hope there’s just a clear game plan. Follow the plan, praise him publicly, and coach him hard as hell privately. If he throws picks, no need to hang him out in public. Matter of fact, take the blame yourself as coach regardless of what you say to Dak within the locker room. If he kills it, call that out.

Whatever level of QB he is, this in my mind is the way to maximize it.

Without knowing him personally it's hard for me to guess Mike's coaching style. I think he's going to make the passing game more risk-averse, without so many deep throws down the middle that got Dak in trouble last season. Zeke's replacement will probably be like Pollard, a guy who can be a real weapon on short passes out of the backfield.

Whatever he does the pressure on both of them has increased. The front office is making moves that suggest the time is now to get over the hump. Another offensive playoff flop, or worse, will likely have Mike cleaning out his office and perhaps have the Jones boys reconsidering their long-term plan at QB (at least I'd hope so).

I think the Cowboys will throw the ball more because our best weapons are pass catchers. The Cowboys want to be a better situational running team and don’t want to be predictable. I expect lots of 12 personnel. Don’t get it twisted you don’t pay your quarterback $40 million to hand the ball off when the going gets tough. The Cowboys will probably throw more deep passes and dump offs.

Dak was correct in his last press conference when he stated it's sink or swim for him.
This team has made proper moves so far this offseason and it's up to # 4 to bring it home or he will be sent home.
GL Dak and I really mean that!
P.S. Personally I believe a leopard doesn't change its colors and Dak will once again be the main reason we don't get the job done once again!

But isn't that one of our issues that we don't throw it down the field enough

Better have a huge sense or urgency. They could both be gone just like Zeke otherwise.

This team looks like it will be ready to roll. Time to start winning in January. Otherwise you are history.

Can’t pay both Dak and Micah crazy quarterbacks type salary at the same time.

they have 2 more seasons with Dak and then when Micah gets paid we pick up a rookie quarterbac.

so yes, there is a sense of urgency and MM better not rely on Dak too heavily

Dak has been tip toed around his whole career. He's not the type of QB you want to chew on. He won't respond well. I'm intrigued to see how short MM leash will be.
I think Mike will need to be over .500 after 5 games to stay put.
