I think playing both Claiborne and Carr on their natural sides and playing man, plays to our strengths. Not sure of the percentage but I think we have been playing more man this year.I was only asking because Jaworski was claiming the Eagles WRs will have opportunities to make plays this weekend because we play a ton of zone. I thought we were playing more man than zone but maybe I am wrong.

This is just my opinion, but I think Marinelli is starting to realize he doesn't have the players to run his scheme the way he drew it up, but has started tailoring the defense to the players strengths. It seems to be working. He still plays the bend don't break defense, but if he can get this defense to keep teams under 20 points a game, then they will in fact be a good defense. It does seem to have taken a while longer than it should have.Yep. I've heard the reasons for the success of Claiborne (and Carr to an extent) aside from being healthy is that they're playing more man and have switched sides. Plus Scandrick and Brown seem to be natural slot corners. I don't understand why we haven't been playing people to their strengths the past few years. Seems like common sense.

Totally agree, we still play a lot of zone but now we seem to be playing more to what the circumstances call for, and Marinelli is mixing it up. Just need to keep it mixed up for Wentz.I disagree a bit. Clearly they're better in man like you say, but the defense is doing a better job scheming their opponent in the pass defense department.
Cincinnati thought we would come out man, and we confused them with zone.
This week we'll likely see man and tight coverage because it may force Wentz into going through his progressions which was his weakness coming out.
So marinelli is mixing things up better than he had in that regard. Truly pressing all the right buttons right now.
