I loved Children of Men in cinema. It should be just as good or even greater in its literary format.

Anything by Nelson DeMille.
Start with Lion's Game and prepare to read all of his books after that. :)

I read Children of Men shortly after seeing the movie -- the book and movie are quite different. But both are good.

As far as fiction goes, I like the classics: Moby Dick, Robinson Crusoe, The Scarlet Letter, The House of the Seven Gables, For Whom the Bell Tolls, etc. There's a REASON they're called "classics"!

Another good novel, although not (yet) a classic is "State of Fear" by the late Michael Crichton. Definitely an interesting read if you like his brand of fiction ("Andromeda Strain", "Jurassic Park", etc.).

You want a read a book that is way different than the movie? Try Bourne Identity. There are only like 6 similarities. One being his name, two being is he male, three being he isn't sure who is he is, and a few other *minor* details. :laugh2:

I must say; I love reading and I've read Moby Dick twice, but I still haven't figured out why Moby Dick is considered so great. It was okay, but I it isn't even close to being in my top 100 books.

For a cheesy movie, that was a fun character.

I love Tom Clancy's "Jack Ryan" series. Pure fiction but with very accurate and advanced military technology and plausible events. He had a plane being purposely crashed into the capitol building before 9/11 happened.

The Road to the Super Bowl: Philadelphia Eagles.

One of the greatest pieces of fiction ever written.
