What are the chances that teams will go ahead and cut a few players and go with less than the maximum number of players on the roster ahead of schedule? None due to the single cut due em with 5 preseason games?

Why would any team do that? Then you have to go through practice with less bodies and wear down the guys you want to keep. Its also not fair to the guys you cut as they have less chance to showcase themselves for the practice squad or for another team.

I may see a team do it as a favor to a player in order to help them get a head start to find another team.

Cutting 3-4 off a 90 man roster before game 4(5 for us) doesn't seem like a big deal.
