Does anyone know what the team is doing regarding trades or
signing free agents? KFFL reported that the team tried out
about a six free agents last Friday and there has been no followup.

No one knows for sure...

They need a veteran WR, a NT, and a corner.

Stay tuned....

its still quiet, whle we are sitting on our hands it seems, other teams are getting players in for visists,

then you add in the fact, we dont know what terry glenn is going to do yet, he hasnt said, if its just a 2-4 week surgery he would be back, but if its longer, thats another spot tied up right now on 53 man roster

then, you add in fergueson is lost for the year, so thats another spot that is open right now, but what do we do, sit on our hands,

I really don't think Dallas should be looking for another WR to bring in...I think NT and CB are the only things they should consider at this point...The Newman issue could continue to be a big problem for the D.

We could use his roster spot to bring in help without having to cut someone.

I don't see any reason to bring in another WR at this point. None of those available are that good and I really like Crayton & Hurd. Also I'd like to see Miles Austin get some playing time at WR at some point.

If there was a decent CB out there, we'd be all over him. Same goes if one could be picked up in a trade w/o paying too much.

As for NT, maybe the Cowboys are satisfied with Ratliff to replace Ferguson. They could sign Remi Ayodele to the PS, check his play out for a week or so and then bring him on the roster when Ferguson, undergoing surgery on Friday, goes on IR probably Friday.

Mostly the team is not going to follow the lead of some fans and panic. Those clamoring for a CB, NT, and veteran WR are probably going to be very disappointed unless there's a deal too good to pass up.

The team is happy with the players on the roster. They recognize a need to have a backup NT, and Remi Ayodele is probably going to fill that role. They feel they can go with Jay Ratliff.

Did it look to anyone like the passing game suffered without Glenn? The young WRs are going to be given every chance to step up.

The team still believes Newman will return soon and CB is solid.

Me, I'd rather give Glenn a bit more time and possibly have him for 6-8 games later in the year than have someone who couldn't make the 53 man roster for any of the league's teams to start the season.

and who are we missing out on? i can understand frustrations and i can understand it being hard to be patient. but WHO are we missing out on by NOT making a move *right now*?

the IGS is gonna need to take a chill pill and learn some good old fashioned patience. as far as i know no real problem was ever fixed by simply running around screaming DO SOMETHING DO SOMETHING!!!! and making knee jerk moves to satisfy the whiners of the world.

let's see where we are, let's look at what we can do, let's find some alternatives and options, and *then* let's make the best decision we can based on facts.

not boredom and the unyeilding desire to see our name in the new busting a move so we can say we "busted a move".

Why does everyone always forget how vital Peerless Price was when we signed him?

Hold on guys, I didnt say we needed to sign another wr, right now so far, I am happy with hurd, austin, crayton and T O, sure we need a speed wr, but if glenn can come back in 4-7 weeks great, just dont rush him this time.

what i am saying, by now glenn should know what he is going to do, whether have the 4 week surgery or the long term, if short term, you dont need to do anything, but if long term, why not go ahead, and have it, so maybe he can be back next year if he can play, dont put it off.

i am saying though with fergy out, there is a roster spot available, right now, there have been like 4 -5 trades made since yesterday, thats what i am saying why wait, if its akins brother, do something now, dont wait, and let some other team sign him,

like my big question is this, whom is going to back up Ratliff, ratliff needs someone to spell him, so he doesnt wear out for the year, thats what i am saying, to me, you shouldnt wait,

Right on.

Nothing against Peerless but he couldn't even crack into our gameday roster,-- now he's starting for the Bills. That must say something about our younger guys.

yea, we should. remi knows we've got a use for him now, he doesn't have to sign with someone else till he wants to.

4-5 trades since yesterday?

frye. who else?

what if we "do something now" and then something better pops up in 2 days? drop what we did now and "do it again"? then what if something better pops up....

slow down, the IGS meeting will go on with or without you and in the end rushed moves are usually rushed and not good ones.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Quarterback David Greene, recently released by Seattle, worked out for Dallas Friday and has scheduled workouts with New England and Tennessee, according to his agent Pat Dye Jr.

"I have no doubt in my mind that he has the skills to play in this league," said Dye. "It's just a matter of getting the right opportunity."

The former Georgia star was drafted by Seattle in the third round of the 2005 draft.

The South Gwinnett grad never took a snap in the regular season for the Seahawks and saw very limited action in the preseason.

Several other teams, including the Falcons, have been in contact with Dye about Greene, but no other tryouts have been scheduled as of Monday.
Dye said he is confident that Greene will be signed to a practice squad soon.

I agree that we don't need to run out and get a WR, but I wouldn't judge the success of our passing game based on one game against the Giants' questionable secondary and injured front seven. Chicago will be a MUCH better test.

At the moment we're not missing out on anyone. But, it seems to me
to be a question of building depth behind the starters. I am having a hard
time adjusting to the way Wade is doing business. Remember, for four
years Bill Parcels would turn over the bottom three or four players
for the first two weeks of the season. Wade does not even mention
prospects in his press conferences. So. this tells me the kind
of GM Jerry is... not very aggressive and works on what the coaches say.

why do people keep referring to parcells as if he won playoff games here?

i have a hard time listening to parcells dittoheads continue to cite his philosophy as a beacon of success when it flat was not such here.

WHO GIVES A DAMN WHAT THAT OLD MAN DID ANYMORE?

if he won 2-3 playoff games, or got "that close" i'd care.

he didn't so he's about as useful as a roadmap to success as fuzzy is in a suspension argument.

I guess I am the ditohead you refer to. We, so be it. The turnover BP
did while he was here, although it did not produce a championship, it did improve the team immensly. You simply do not understand how to build a roster with interchangeable players. You are probably one of the fans who will
be the first to bail out if the current regime fails to produce a winner. Remember, Wade has not won a championship either!

Remi can NOT be signed to the 53 roster, nor the PS, for 4 weeks, IF my understanding of NFL rules are correct.
Anthony Bryant and Jimmy Kennedy are only names to me.
Practice squads of other 3/4 teams don't seem to show many potential backups for Jay. Pittsburgh's PS lists a 292 pounder from Penn State, and San Diego's lists a 330 pound rookie from Fresno State.
If no backup for Jay can be found, Roy Williams should get some snaps at NT to rest Jeremiah.
